I haven't had any issues with this speaker so far. The sound is loud and clear. It is so much easier and convenient to control my music by just talking and not having to go to a device to change a song, especially while cooking. If you want to listen to music from a playlist you've created, say through Amazon Music or Spotify, etc., you would have to bluetooth it through one of your devices. One thing that did disappoint me was the fact that I didn't know the speaker had to be plugged in at all times to work. I thought it head a built on battery like most bluetooth speakers. I'll just have to purchase the Echo Battery Base to make it portable.

I thought I would hate it...who wants to invite Amazon and the NSA into your home to listen to your private conversations? But after thinking about it, I decided I have nothing to hide from anyone, so bring it on. I went ahead and set it up, and now I really love it! I can ask for any kind of music and iheartradio will play it. I set timers to turn my porch light on at sunset and off at sunrise. I created a routine where when I say "Alexa, goodnight" she plays cricket sounds to lull me to sleep. When I say "Alexa, good morning" I've set a routine where she gives me my calendar, the weather, and turns on the light. Plus, whenever I want to play a podcast or add something to my shopping list or whatever, all I have to do is say it. I haven't set it up to make phone calls yet, but apparently it can do that too. It's really fun and useful.

Got 5 of them in my house. Same music plays throughout the house. Cellphone, connects thru them and I can answer the cell at the speaker. No more rushing to get to the cellphone downstairs. Great design, but Amazon needs to bring this design back as their new round ball design is pretty but a space waster. This cylinder design delivers sound in all directions, so you can place it anywhere in the room. But watch out for power outages as the speakers don't always reset properly. Just unplug them for 3 min, and it should be ok.

I have the very first, original version of Alexa. The cylinder tower with the twisty top that controls volume. I got this new one on sale. I was hoping it would have better sound quality than my older one. And yes it does. A very noticeable difference too! Definitely has a better sub woofer for bass. Nicer all around. Though, I do miss the twisty top for volume control :(

You can also tell Alexa to "play music everywhere" and she'll play it on all the connected speakers/echos in the house.
