UPDATE April 29, 2016: Tech services contacted and suggested the following which worked and the camera is now working perfectly.
• Use a laptop and download the firmware of the camera here [...]
• Extract the file and save the BIN file on the desktop
• Reset the DCS-2630L (press the reset hole at the back hold for 15 seconds using a paper clip)
• Connect the laptop to the WiFi network of the camera (ex: DCS-2630LXXX; the password is on the card. Usually it will just says limited or no connectivity)
• Open an Internet browser such as Internet Explorer and type the IP address (10.255.255.1) in the address bar
• If it asks for a username and password type admin for the username and leave the password blank
• Click on maintenance and click firmware upgrade on the left hand side
• Browse the BIN file on the desktop and upload it
• Once the upload is done please reconnect laptop to the DCS-2630L network
• Access the setup page of the camera again by using an Internet browser (10.255.255.1)
• Click on setup> Wireless setup> Site survey button
• Select your wireless nework
• Input WiFi password of your router on the preshared key box or key at the bottom
• Save the settings
• MAKE SURE that the LED is green/blinking green
• Use the Android /iPhone
• Open mydlink lite
• Add the camera on local
• You can tap the camera on the local network or click on add new camera
• Tap on No to QR code
• Tap the DCS-2630L
• Tap Yes to WPS button (you do not have to follow how it is done for WPS but hit ready right away)
• Follow the instructions until it will have the step on to register the camera to mydlink
• Check if able to see live feed
I rec'd the replacement unit and unfortunately issues persist. The MAC address on the qcode card and bottom of unit was different then the actual MAC address of the unit(quality assurance issue at the packaging plant). This caused issues due to MAC address filtering. Once we determined this was an issue we (D-Link tech and I) turned off MAC filtering on my router and it connected fine. Great quality video stream and the night vision was the best I have seen. A totally dark room was lit like I had the lights on! The 180 degree view is also incredible. Yet, each time I unplugged the unit it lost ALL settings. I flashed the firmware twice and made sure when I 'saved' settings they stuck. I had to got through the connection process again and again. For this reason I have returned the unit for a refund. I believe it is a great camera yet either I got two lemons or the software still has a few bugs they need to workout. I am giving it three stars because again, it is a great camera but I have had software issues.
Okay. So my DCS-2630L arrived a day early. Very excited to get it working. After about an hour of attempting to connect it to my Netgear R6300 router I called support. It was midnight but I was able to reach a technician immediately. We tried approximately 50 minutes to get it to work (resets, turning of security on the router, firmware upgrades-which failed, etc). The technician (who was great actually) determined the unit was defective and must be returned. I contacted Amazon that same evening and requested a return. It arrived today at my office and I will test it the moment I get home. Stand by.
If the camera works I will certainly update my review and rating.
I was wrong...
For my first installation attempt I used the "manual" process rather than using WPS. That was a mistake. Could not determine whether I had done something wrong or whether the hardware was not working. Tried resetting the camera and installing again at least 1/2 dozen times. Wording of instructions on my Droid phone were somewhat confusing so I went off to youtube to find some info that might be more helpful than the Dlink video. It helped to understand what was going on during the installation but it did not help getting the camera going.s
I finally gave up on manually setting up the camera, having only once getting the camera to connect to my network. That connection did not last more than a minute or two. So I started again using WPS to set up the camera. It actually seemed to work. The camera connected to my network, I could see it in my router, I had a green light, and was ready to go. Only problem was I could not access the camera using either the MyDlink app in my phone or by directly connecting to the camera via its IP address.
Reset again....started all over with WPS and had no success even getting the camera to connect.to the network,
Reset again (I think I wore out the button) ....
The one time I did get the camera connected and I assume working I tried twice to install the latest firmware. The first time the camera would not stay connected long enough to even download the new firmware. I downloaded the firmware and tried installing it by connecting directly with the camera - failure that way also. Camera just would not keep running long enough to get the update
Bottom line was, got the camera to work once - but only for about 1 minute before it froze and I had to start all over again.
I assume the camera was bad - but I really don't know. There is nothing special about my network, it is all relatively new equipment, my phone is new and I had the latest MyDlink app. Didn't bother to call technical support because I did not want to waste my time going through multiple resets and start overs with them. I believe I did everything possible to get it working. If it took more than what I did I wouldn't want it anyway.
Shipped it back and may try another one in the future. Based on reviews I have read and my experience maybe it just isn't ready for prime time though so I will wait a while for the bugs to worked out.

If you do buy this just remember although you get money back, the company takes a huge re stocking fee amount and you'll end up buying another camera.
