    Product Description

The Channel Master CM-7777V3 Titan 2 television antenna booster (preamplifier) will amplify digital and HD signals received by your antenna. This preamplifier is a high gain, low noise preamplifier used for weak signal areas to allow a weak signal that is present at the antenna to be amplified to a viewable strength. This TV antenna preamplifier is designed for use in the weakest of signal areas only. Keep in mind, due to its ultra high gain amplification, it can be subject to overdriving issues when used in areas with fairly strong signals present. In areas with a mix of both strong and weak signals, the Channel Master CM-7778V3 Titan 2 Medium Gain Preamplifier is a better choice. Preamplifiers are also used if you anticipate distributing your signal with a digital splitter to multiple televisions throughout your house as splitters reduce the signal strength available at each output.

For those dealing with weak signals, give it a try
The Titan 2 High Gain Preamplifier, CM-7777V3, notes say that it is for those with broadcast towers at least 80 miles away. I'll agree with another reviewer here that it is worth a try for anyone dealing with weak signals, especially those of us in the mountains who often get OTA TV from low power repeaters that aren't line-of-sight.My Colorado mountain setup is more difficult than most: an antenna on a 25 foot mast in a tree that is 75 feet from the splitter that powers the preamp and another ten feet to the transformer that supplies the power to it — so 85 feet from power to preamp and it works fine! From there I have another fifty feet, with one split, to my Channel Master DVR and TV. Why such a long run? My house is concrete and steel with a steel roof (to protect it from wildfire danger), so no antenna in the attic is possible. I live in a high lightning zone so I didn't want an antenna near the house.I've been using a Winegard 8700 for more than a decade and it works well enough, but two of my signals are fairly weak and even five degrees of weathercocking of the antenna will degrade the picture. I got this high gain preamplifier to see if I could pull in a stronger signal. It worked: I didn't get any new channels (signals present but not enough quality to be useful) but now my weakest two channels, both low power repeaters 23 miles away without direct line-of-sight, now come in significantly stronger and I get a decent picture even if the antenna is 10º off. Also, I have two signals that are so strong that they don't need the antenna pointed at them and they do not overload the high gain preamp — now they are 100% strength and 94% and 100% quality with no problems.I appreciate that both the power transformer and the preamp have green LEDs to show that power is working ok.Very pleased.
