Now, rating this headphone is subjective as we all have different preferences, but here’s a summary:
• Sound Quality - 9.5/10 (after 60 hours of burn in)
Treble and Vocals are excellent, Bass doesn’t sound great out the box and takes listening time to improve. Great for listening acoustics, country, instrumentals, jazz and pop, but not much for R&B and rock, or heavy metal. No wonder, Volvo, McLaren and some BMW trusts them for their car audio.
• Build Quality - 9/10 great materials used, quality parts, leather is genuine, softens over time and absolutely feels good. New version, comes with a nice hard case with zipper and garter for your charger and audio cable. ALTHOUGH, there’s a potential WEAK POINT near the ear cup where you see breakages from other users. Metal fatigue, can happen over time as pressure is applied there during wear and use, which can break some point in the future. The buttons on the headphones and tactile feedback feels good and plush.
• Battery Life - 10/10 great battery! Although the app says it maxes out at 97~98%, it may be an isolated app issue. (I also have a P5 Wireless which I bought in 2016, and still good up to this date. So this should be much better)
• Comfort - 9/10 my head is quite big, and headphones have a great seal, so it’s comfortable to wear, ANC works well and the genuine leather which softens up after prolonged use feels great. Discomfort may happen after prolonged use for some users, with smaller heads. I fell asleep in bed wearing this and no discomfort so far, leather gets softer so it only gets better.
• Customer Service (USA) - Good, not great as calling them is the best way to reach them. Their tech support is amazing though 9/10. Calling them is a bit of a wait around 6-10 minutes long and is not 24/7.
Overall, for $400 USD (before taxes) the Bowers&Wilkins PX headphone are amazing over-the-ear headphones with a final score of 9.5/10 especially when you’re like me who mostly listens to (Pop, Acoustics, Country, Jazz and Instrumentals) noise cancelling is good enough for most users, not as great as BOSE, but it gets the job done in most scenarios. The B&W mobile app, Connects to the headphones fine, enough features you need.
(Note: If you’re encountering issues with the app not connecting to your headphones, it may be a Bluetooth conflict or interference issue, with another device connected to your phone. Tech support doesn’t know this, but figured it out myself)

Today I tried wired connection and it sounded even better than ANC-off wireless! Greater detail and spatial separation and cleaner soundstage. At first I plugged in the cable and nothing happened (!!!) then I found out that for it to work you must turn off BT first.
*****UPDATE 12-2-2018******
Decided to do an A-B with my flagship wired cans Sennheiser HD600 and AKG K812 playing a couple of favorite tracks: Murray Perahia's Goldberg Variations and Donizetti's "Roberto Devereux" Act 2 opening (Beverly Sills). My God! How beautifully the rustic horns blended into the silky strings, followed by the joyfully airy hunting chorus. In the Goldberg 'aria', the piano sound is lustrous with natural warmth and air surrounding each note. The soundstage may not be as wide or deep as the K812, nor the earcups as comfortable as the HD600, but I'm still lovin' it!
I also find the buttons on the PX easier to use than gesture controls on other headphones. To play/pause, press the raised middle button; to turn ANC on/off, toggle the second small button -- they became intuitive after a while.
Moreover, I find the ANC sound quality vastly improved since my initial assessment, although still noticeably 'recessed' in soundstage and generally sounding muted/not as bright.
*****UPDATE 10-27-2018*****
Auditioned the new Sony 1000XM3 for a few days. Very nice comfortable and lightweight.
However, in terms of pure audiophile sound quality, the PX still wins. The noise-cancelling is acceptable-to-good in most noisy situations (e.g., air conditioner, traffic noises) and BETTER than Sony in cancelling wind noises while walking. Yes it's a heavy and clamps down hard but I see it as a positive, a reassuring sign of quality construction.
------
CAVEAT: 5 stars for ANC-off audio quality only. Read on...
As a classical music audiophile, I've done extensive A-B comparisons of the PX and Sony WH-1000XM2 --
1. With ANC off:
PX sounds phenomenal, almost like my Sennheiser HD600. Rich bass across a wide soundstage, gorgeous mids and clear highs.
Sony sounds very clear and detailed also, but vis-a-vis the PX I wouldn't describe it as a 'rich' sound; in fact it's a dryer sound with somewhat tinny mids and highs (especially apparent in big orchestral or choral crescendos). Let me just say that if you have never heard the PX, you would be very very happy with the 1000XM2.
2. With ANC on
PX sounds like you're inside a tunnel. Very tinny and low-fi, shockingly so. In my noisy hip-hop blasting UFC Gym, the Bach Cello Suites were practically unlistenable (earbuds with Comply foam tips would have been more preferable.)
Sony still sounds like #1 above. In the same gym, the Bach Cello Suites sounded beautifully serene, with outside noises reduced to a distant murmur, amazingly so. It beats out both the PX and foam-tip earbuds.
Conclusion: I am keeping both headphones, 1 for the gym and 1 for home (when I'm not at my DAC-tube amp-headphone desktop).

Feature wise the "wear sensor", which recognizes when you're wearing the headphones and pauses when you lift an ear cup and goes into sleep mode when you take them off your head, has worked well for the most part, with a couple minor hiccups early on, I updated the latest firmware pretty quickly, so that may have helped things. The ANC feature is not something I plan on using much personally, but it's good to know it's there for the times I need it. The various noise canceling settings do a great job when you have a good seal on your head, though competing headphones may do a slightly better job in this department, but again not a factor for me and why I cast my vote for sound quality with this purchase. The B&W app is pretty simple, it provides access to the intensity of the wear sensor, the various ANC modes, firmware updates, headphone info, a factory reset button, registration and a battery percentage indicator... as others have mentioned the inclusion of an EQ would have been cool and is a missed opportunity.
Comfort wise, I was skeptical, my older P7's gave me the dreaded pain on the top of my head thing and I was afraid these would do the same. I'm happy to say that these are much more comfortable for me. They do clamp down on the ears to get a good seal, and the ear pads have a bit of a triangular profile which could bug some folks, but for the most part haven't felt the need to take them off due to discomfort. I should mention they don't disappear on your head, you can tell they're there and they do have a bit of weight to them.
Guess the main take away is that these headphones make me want to re-visit some classic albums and just generally listen to music, and that's pretty cool because at the end of the day awesome sounding music is the meat and potatoes of a good headphone... everything else is just gravy, at least in my case. ;)

El sistema de sensores es excepcionalmente util.
Aun no he podido probar su sistema de reducción de ruido externo.
Out of the box these headphones pair easily and there is a companion B&W application that should be downloaded to your phone - this allows you to tweak the noise cancellation settings and the ‘proximity’ settings too. The ‘proximity’ settings are revolutionary for Bluetooth headphones as they sense when the headphones have been removed from the listening position and then switch themselves into standby automatically. When you put them back on they automatically start playing music again.
The active NC has several modes - Office, city and flight - and for each setting you can tweak how much sound to let through. All this is done through the application.
The controls on the right headphone allow you to switch the active NC on or off, adjust volume, pause, go back, forward to next track, pairing and a manual on/off which after a bit of tweaking with the proximity settings and getting familiar with use, you’ll hardly use.
There’s a usb a to c lead for quicker charging of the internal battery, an auxiliary cable and a cloth bag with a small internal pocket for storing leads in.
The B&W app can also update the firmware on the headphones via Bluetooth - it’s definitely worth doing this as soon as you get them as the proximity settings have beensignificantly iimproved recently. It is a pain to update the firmware as it takes a good 10 minutes to download and install it - and during that time you have to make sure the headphones stay powered up.
The cloth case is shallow - the PX headphones are designed not to fold up but to slide into the case flat. Whilst some people view this as a negative, as a frequent traveller I now have a pair of headphones that slide neatly into my laptop case - Nice thinking actually.
Once paired I found that the PXs needed a bit of configuring via the app - and it definitely took me a few days to get used to the proximity sensors- once I had though, I got used to not having to manually turn the ‘phones on or off - and this is such a convenient feature. I’d find it hard to go back now... this is quite an advanced concept for Bluetooth headphones and B&W have led the way here.
The manual controls on the right headphone are easy to navigate and - as usual with B&W - once you have these headphones out of the box and in your hands, you’ll find the build quality impeccable and very robust. They look and feel expensive.
Soundwise- well you have to try them for yourself- but I found the breadth of the soundstage was just mindblowing - all my favourite pieces sounded as though they were being played right in front of me... The dual lead guitars on Throw Down the Sword had astonishing resolution. Echoes by Pink Floyd was an epic subterranean masterpiece. The Fabulous Thunderbirds sounded rich and vibrant as they rock and rolled through You can’t judge a book by looking at the cover. My metric for assessing a new pair of headphones is whether I want to go through my music collection again as I’m hearing my best tunes in a new way. Many headphones don’t make me feel this way - the Momentum 2.0’s were underwhelming, the P7s were very good but the bass was a bit too dominant for me. These PXs’s were addictive from the first minute and now I can’t go back - the drivers in the PX’s are outstanding and I want to play all of my favourite music again through them. The bass is dynamic without being overbearing and the Mids and highs frequencies are carefully sculpted so that there is a warm response but the level of detail is incredibly rich. And they get better and better with more listening.
The thing about active NC is that it has to affect the sound that you’re hearing - B&W let you tweak this so that you can compromise as much or little as you want...and the fact that you can hear the NC affect the sound at higher settings actually tells you just how good the dynamics of these headphones are. Some other NC cans, you can’t hear much difference in the sound dynamics when you switch in the NC. That’s because they don’t come anywhere close to the HDR sound you’ll hear through the PXs.
I found that the headphones felt tight and a little uncomfortable for the first few days - but after a few weeks they have bedded in, feel comfortable and I can wear them for several hours without needing to take them off.
Battery life is great at around 20-22 hours - did notice a discrepancy between battery level displayed on the B&W app and my IPhone but it’s less than a 10% error and doesn’t really cause any problems.
The NC is pretty good and being able to configure it is great - wish you could cycle modes through the NC on/off button on the headphones though - but again a minor niggle.
I don’t know how B&W have managed it at this price but these headphones are simply outstanding - their performance is outstanding, as is the build quality and overall feel. I’ll be holding on to these for a very long time to come...
