Customers are mixed about the scrollability of the input mouse. Some mention that the adaptive scroll wheel behavior is actually rather nice, providing smooth scrolling until you slow the wheel down. - Front/Back buttons hard to reach? For me it's not difficult at all to reach the front and back buttons. I actually like this design better than my performance mx and marathon m705. More details below.
- Bluetooth connectivity: I can't comment on this because I use the unifying receiver on my desktop. I do not have any issues with the receiver.
- Comfort: Some people have complained that the mouse kind of bites into their hand due to the higher curvature. I haven't had this problem. I actually like the higher arch as it supports my hand better and puts it in a more natural position.
So, the full review. Here we go.
- Scroll wheel mode switch button: Useful if you don't like the adaptive scrolling feature (I happen to love it) or just want it always in free scroll, but you can also reassign the button to do other things like...well pretty much whatever you want. There's too many options to list.
- Main scroll wheel: The clicks for the main scroll wheel feel nice and smooth but are also are easy to count if you need some precise scrolling. The adaptive scrolling feature is pretty legit. You can adjust the sensitivity of this feature so that it requires more or less flicking force to get it to switch to free spinning mode. Scroll normally, it stays in clicky mode. Flick it and it spins freely. Pretty darn cool.
- Thumb wheel: A nifty feature and probably extremely useful for excel users or something similar. I don't use it much but it's nice to have when I do need to side scroll. You can change the function of the scroll wheel to basically whatever you want, such as changing tabs in Chrome, but switching tabs with the thumb wheel was laggy, making it hard to get to the tab I wanted, and I couldn't think of anything else actually useful to me, so I left it as the standard side scrolling function.
- Front/Back buttons: I read in several places that these buttons were hard to reach and tell the difference between. For me this is not the case. I really like the new design for these buttons for 2 reasons. One, the buttons have an edge to them that makes it easy for me to distinguish which button is which since they are right on top of each other. Second is that the front button is actually reachable now. On my performance mx and marathon m705 the front button is so far forward that I never used it because it was too hard to reach. Now, on the Mx Master I use it all the time and I've assigned a keystroke so that when I press the forward button it cycles through tabs on Chrome. Very handy. If you do have trouble reaching the back button or accidentally hitting the wrong one, you can just assign the same function to both buttons. Then it doesn't matter which one you hit.
- Gesture button: You can do a lot of cool things with the gesture button. I have mine set so that when I press and hold it and move the mouse left or right it adjusts the volume, and up or down will maximize or minimize the current window. Also I've set just a quick press of the gesture button to open a new tab in Chrome.
All of the buttons are customizable, and given the option for keystroke assignments I think you can do just about any action you could ever want to do. At the very least I can say there are a LOT of options. If there's something you wish you could do with one of the buttons on this mouse, chances are you can.
As far as feel goes, this mouse is more comfortable to me than all the other mice I own. The higher arch fits my hand better and allows it to rest in a more natural position. The material it's made out of feels good under my hand and the buttons all click nicely. They aren't too loud or hard to push, and not too easy that I accidentally click things. This is a very high quality mouse. Definitely worth the $90.
So, since there aren't many negatives to speak of, let me address those first. I could really only find like two semi-legitimate negatives. One of which is completely subjective, and the other is completely fixable in firmware, and you may not even give a flap about it.
The first of these is the configuration of all the side buttons. As you've probably already read or seen, the redesign of this mouse has included a side-scroll wheel (Amazing btw! More on that later), while keeping the "forward" and "back" buttons. This has created some compromises. Instead of side by side, the buttons are stacked. When I first heard of this being an issue, I assumed I would agree. However upon using the mouse, I can truthfully say I have had NO issue with the placement of the buttons, and not once have accidentally pressed the wrong one. The back button is slightly larger and sticks out a tiny bit more, which makes it easier to find over the forward button. It is very easy to distinguish the two, for me. I have fairly long and slender hands, for reference. YMMV.
-The second and final negative, is something that seems to be hit or miss with most users, regardless of platform (Windows/OSX/Linux). Basically what is happening for some, and not happening AT ALL for others, is that when connected via Bluetooth, the mouse tends to "fall asleep" rather quickly, within about 5-10 minutes without movement or clicks, I'd say. Now, for me, as soon as I move the mouse around, click it, or pick it up and put it back down again (just real quickly), it quickly wakes back up and is back in action. As a video editor who's constantly using his mouse, but not always constantly moving it, this got annoying very fast. I searched the web with no solid solutions regarding keeping it in Bluetooth mode, but did see a good amount of people just switching to the RF USB dongle ("Unifying Receiver") and having the problem eliminated. So, that's what I did. And sure enough, no more issues. Stays "awake" all the time. Still wakes up the computer out of sleep mode and all that, fully functional with no drop-outs. Look, I realize that a portion of people are not down with this, because it uses up a USB port on your machine, and is frustrating because the mouse is advertised as Bluetooth OR Rf. But as I said in the beginning of this review, for ME, I don't give "AF," as the youngsters say these days. This mouse is SO much better than any Magic Mouse I've ever used, so much more comfortable, so much more programmable, so much sleeker looking and improves my productivity in such a way that I really do not care using the dongle as it is tiny, USB3 hubs (powered or not) are insanely cheap (or at least they should be to you if you're purchasing a $99 MSRP mouse), and it's what you had to do with the old Performance MX of yesteryear anyway! I'm sorry, tech sticklers, but I really, and truly, realistically, just don't give A.F.
The Pro's are everything else. Ergonomics are the best in the biz IMO. Customizability is second to none (for a productivity targeted, bluetooth, mouse not intended for gaming). Placement of buttons [for me] is just about perfect. The side scroll wheel is a MUST if you edit video, for scrubbing through your timeline is smooth, easy and magical. Oh and don't even get me started on the SmartShift clicky-and-then-instantly-free-spinning-whenever-you-want-it-to scroll wheel...IT'S SO FUN. Ratcheting if you need it to be, smooth if you like it like that, or a hybrid of both if you like to get a lil' freaky behind closed doors. In my humble opinion, it is simply a NO-BRAINER to upgrade from your Magic Mouse to this. As Marques said, the ergonomics of the Magic mouse are like the spawn of satan.

There are two options to connect: one is via bluetooth and the other is via a slim USB wireless receiver that is provided (I use a mac so I don't use the receiver).
Two main things that I was looking for prior to purchasing:
1) Comfort: Very, very comfortable. I am able to rest my entire palm on the mouse because of its size. It is not compact per se, but it beats having a cramped wrist when using a mouse that is smaller and non ergonomic. (I'm a size M/L in gloves).
2) Battery: The battery is rechargeable (built-in removable battery), NOT your standard AA battery. It comes with a charging cable which allows you to simultaneous charge and use the mouse (pretending that it's wired).
Prior to this mouse, I was using the old Apple Mighty Mouse (it had a trackball on top for easy vertical/horizontal scrolling). This mouse also supports horizontal scrolling, but it is located by the thumb rest.
An interesting feature not listed on the product description is the option to change the tactile feedback when scrolling vertically. There is the option to turn off the tactile feedback so it feels as if the mouse wheel is rolling smoothly and continuously. On the other hand, when the feedback is turned on, you can feel "a bump" every time you scroll - purely a preference matter.
Overall, this mouse is terrific. Visually appeasing and is very accurate with mouse tracking. Fits comfortably for my hand - I can rest by whole palm on it. Definitely recommend to other users looking into a nice mouse.

Reseña original a continuación
========================

Details :- You are wondering its so damn expensive but it gives u a lot of features in return.Have a really long battery life, and due to the charging system we can charge it when we are running out of juice unlike those traditional Battery which ends up very quickly. I always use it for editing my Youtube videos or editing photos and ofcourse for gaming. This is the successor of the Logitech MX Performance. There are sevearl buttons on this thing. It also comes with a gesture pad which is really useful on Mac specially but you have also a advantage with its Software (Logitech Options) which allows you to customise the buttons functionality on both the platforms (Mac And Windows). Overall I have good experience with this mouse.
I just turn on the bluetooth on my Mac and use it without carrying the Logitech Unifying Receiver every time with me.
It is really compact and honestly I use it as my travel mouse and my main mouse. With one button at the button I can simultaneously use it on 3 computers at a time.
Yes/No ? :- Yes, you should get this. Instead of its heavy price, because once you use it you will feel it.

Use:
I personally use this for work, where I need to swap between Windows continually, as well as go forward and backwards in web pages.
Functionality:
For work the thumb rest button and forward and back buttons are used constantly. As well, the smooth scrolling that changes to free-wheeling is really nice when I have to start scrolling through long case records, or hundreds of e-mails. The ability to have it set to both USB, and bluetooth connections with the press of a button is great for when I need to leave my dock for a meeting. I can just cycle to a different connection, and leave my dongle connected to the dock.
Performance/Battery Life:
I've had the mouse for about 2 months now, and in that time I've charge it only 2 times It's used for 8.5 hour shifts, 5 days a week, and on several occasions I've accidentally left it on all night, or over the weekend. However, even then, I'm able to charge it during my 45 minute lunch, and come back to a full battery! In terms of device performance, I've had it get jittery a few times when I've been in meetings with lots of wireless mice, but after changing to Bluetooth for meetings, I've not had this problem anymore. As well, the mouse glides incredibly easily, and tracks on pretty much every surface, including our few glass meeting tables. I have not tested the range of the mouse, since I'm not in a scenario/environment where I need to use it at a long range.
Other:
The Logi software is alright to look at, but in all reality I've only ever used it to check the battery level as it doesn't tell you on the mouse while it's on, unless you change connections, or power it off then on.
Conclusion:
It's the MX Master, it's well known and highly recommended for a reason. The combination of the ability to quickly swap between the dongle connection, and bluetooth make it perfect for employees who have frequent meetings. The long battery life, and quick charge time lets me often forget to turn the mouse off, and even when it gets low I just charge it over lunch and it's back to full, lasting weeks. It's a great mouse for anyone who works in an office, or is looking for a great, all around mouse for day-to-day stuff with a fantastic battery life!
Pros:
- Battery lasts weeks
- Charges 0 to full in under an hour
- Works on pretty much every surface
- Can program and switch between multiple connection types
- Glides nice and easily
Cons:
- Thumb rest button is a wee awkward to use, and takes getting used to
- Can be considered pricey, but gaming mice, and other high end wired/wireless mice cost way more
- Not the MX Master 2 with the new Logitech Flow software/function
First off, this is NOT A GAMING MOUSE. You can play games, but this mouse is on the heavier side, and was never designed to play games.
It is insanely comfortable to touch and you can use it for hours at a stretch. If you get used to using this mouse for a while, you won't like to switch back to any other.
It has a beautiful design with a premium look and feel. I feel like the other color (creamy white) looks better, but for some reason, the color also increases the price by 2.5k, which I dislike.
This mouse is really for professional/productivity usage and not for basic home computing.
