The Excellent
------------------
You can immediately tell this is an Apple product. Functionality wise - it is by far the best wireless headset I've ever owned (at least if you're in the apple echo system). Pairing it is a breeze, and "transferring" it between devices is so easy. With regular bluetooth sets you have to first disconnect from one device before going to the other, but with this, u just select it from the Mac and it "moves" there. You select it again in your phone and it goes back to the phone. You only pair it once, with your phone, and it's recognized in all your devices. Sweet.
It is also very very comfortable. I like the fact its rubbery soft. My last wireless headset were the LG Tone. They were hard plastic, and didn't fold. It was a nuisance. These are very comfortable. In your ear, on your neck. The little "weights" prevent them from falling and the magnetic ear pieces make sure they are not dangling. BY FAR the most comfortable wireless headset I've ever owned.
The Good
--------------
Sound quality is good, but not perfect. For talking its perfect, but for Music - It's just good (understandable, given the size, battery and wireless constraints, but still... one always wants more). Surprisingly, despite the beats reputation, the bass is a little weak on them. You can simply tweak that in Spotify equalizer though and it gets resolved. Volume is very good - I've had before wireless headsets that were too weak, this is not the case here.
Battery life is quite decent. I'd be happy for a few more hours (My LG had better battery life), but that of course comes with the light weight. Having said that - charging is SNAPPY. you can get it up to about a quarter charge in 5 minutes (!). This is extremely useful when I forget to charge it or when you run out of juice, and in a way makes for the slightly lower battery life (plus its still much better than earpods!)
The Not so Good...
-------------------------
Only one thing, which, to be honest, seems to be the case with ALL wireless headsets I've tried. Noice cancellation, or rather, the lack of one. When in a quiet place - the microphone quality is great and I never have complaints, but if it's noisy - all noise goes into the call. All the fancy apple noise cancellation is... gone... for this I believe it is worth only 4.5 points.
I’m going to update my review a little after having these a couple months. I’m not sure quite why but these are now my go to headphones for 90% of the time. They’re comfortable in any position including laying down which is an issue for most headphones and even ear buds. They still sound pretty good. Not great though by a small margin. They charge super fast although honestly the battery life seems to be less than 8 hours to me. They look great around the neck and on. I’ve really grown to love these things so I’m adding the 5th star.

To be perfectly honest I’m pretty torn. These are very good ear buds. They have some unique features you really can’t find anywhere else and it’s those that will have to make it worth (or not) the $100+ price tag. For me I do quite like them but I’d have to say they probably aren’t worth the 5x higher price tag compared to Anker sound buds Lite for example. ($20). Especially if you’re on the fence about it.
Sound is good. Not great. Not particularly exciting. Just good. It’s surprising how much balance there is overall. The bass isn’t that typical Beats bass which honestly I’m fine with for earbuds. I’d personally prefer a bit more punch in the lows. On rare occasions I can tell that the high frequencies are muddy but the music I listen to doesn’t usually cause a problem.
The biggest positives about these earbuds are kind of design oriented. They are very comfortable. They are pretty stable in ear. I’ve not had any trouble with them coming loose but with the controller on the left wire they’re not quite perfect. Again I prefer the cheap Anker lite style slightly more with absolutely clean cables and neck band controls. They look pretty nice and the flexible neck band is very comfortable. By far my favorite thing is the charging though. 5 minutes for 2 hours and about 40 minutes give you 8 hours claimed. In my experience it's closer to 30 minutes for 6.5 hours but I still think it's great. And for any iPhone user having headphones with lightning charging is a very refreshing change. They do pair easily as well with the W1 chip but in my experience it's not THAT much faster than normal so I don't particularly care.
Overall I wouldn't buy these purely for the sound quality. There are headphones for half the price or less that sound better. That doesn't mean they're horrible though. These earbuds still make a lot of sense for people that just want something super convenient for every day listening and are already involved in the Apple ecosystem. Though honestly even for those people many of the cheaper options don't give up too many features so these make the most sense if you've got the cash to spare for mostly unnecessary niceties.

I can vouch for the noise isolation too. I’m working around leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, and lawn mowers. The BeatsX lower the noise to a safe volume about as good as ear plugs. I use the standard ear tips that are preinstalled on the earphones, although there’s 3 more pairs of various size. The first day I noticed them getting lightly tugged out of my ears as I moved around at work. If you’re doing physical labour I recommend putting the wings on. There’s a small and a medium pair included.
The sound quality is good. I mostly use them for listening to podcasts. You’re not going to get the same quality as a good pair of full headphones but they’re great for what they are.
I’ve not had a single connectivity issue in my time using these, which is what I was afraid of most. Using with my iPhone 8 Plus, these pair very easily and stay that way.
[UPDATE]
I continue to use these at work after a year. I don't tend to be listening to things for my entire day though so I cannot attest to them lasting 8 hours anymore. They really do function great as just earplugs though. The noise isolation is great for when I'm using very loud eqiupment.
I have had a significant issue though. The right-side earpiece occasionally gets quieter than the left side. The only way I've found that fixes this is by popping off the rubber cap and removing the tiny mesh screen that sits on top of the front cavity. I then blow it out or use a toothpick to gently wipe away any debris buildup. This is a tricky issue because that tiny mesh screen is held on with a sticky adhesive, so I have to be very careful in both removing it an putting it back on. This problem may be because the BeatsX are not sufficiently protected from dust or sweat, or it could just be that I just have a faulty part.
That left side earbud has never had any issue so clearly that one is holding up very well to dust and water. And that's really saying something because in my job I regularly encounter a whole lot of both dust and water, as well as sweating a lot.
I would still recommend these. Maybe the most amazing thing is that I would highly recommend these over ISOtunes PRO earbuds. They are less expensive, but those are literally marketed to professionals with all kinds of qualifications like being ANSI-certified, OSHA-compliant, IP55 and rated for 85 dB. One of my team leads owns those and uses them everyday, and they're in really rough shape! The wire wears down and tears apart to the point he had to wrap electrical tape around it. The eartips wear down and fall off all the time for him, which sucks because the eartips for the ISOtunes PRO are not cheap to replace. He had to have the entire unit replaced by warranty due to how much they were falling apart. On top of that he doesn't find them very comfortable to wear. The BeatsX are vastly superior for professional use over the earbuds that are specifically made for professional use. Gotta love that.
[UPDATE 2]
So it’s April now. 1 year and 1 month of use, that one bud that was giving me problems has now completely stopped working. Apple will not honour a warranty claim because it expired a month ago.

We also get ear fins in the box which helps in a further secure fit of these headphones. The bluetooth range is about 30-40 feet. Also we get a small pouch in the box for carrying them but according to me they are a bit too small and it takes some time to fit in these earphones. This is my only concern. And yes these are a better purchase that the apple AirPods in sound department but in portability and charging department apple AirPods is hands down the winner.
