Customers like the ease of setup of the printer. For example, they say it's a breeze to set up, easy to connect to WiFi, and setup using the app. Some mention that the computer app is much easier to use than those associated with their past HP printers. That said, most are happy with the ease with which they can use the printer and scan to email.

Customers are dissatisfied with the quality of the printer. They mention that the build quality is very poor, the flimsy parts break easily, and it feels cheap. The paper holder is made of thin plastic, so be careful when filling or moving the paper. The plastic pieces hinges and lids are delicate, and the printer reported possible damage. The ink doesn't last long at all, and also the scanner stopped recognizing their phone for no reason.

    Works great, looks great!
This is my first office printer, and I am very happy with this purchase! The setup was super easy, and I can print both from my laptop and my phone, wirelessly! I took a few prints and scanned some documents, and they all look great. I did not know that it can scan from the document feeder on the top. I think thats an excellent functionality because now I don't have to struggle trying to keep the document perfect straight on the scanner glass. This looks great in my office and sits flush on the shelf. If you were struggling like me to find if this comes with any ink, it comes with 4 ink cartridges in the box. You can also get a "Instant Ink" subscription (it was free for me for 2 months) and when you subscribe they send a starter package which includes more ink cartridges. I am waiting for mine to arrive, and the email says they are larger than the ones that came with the box. If you have the "Instant Ink" subscription, this printer would order more ink for you when you are close to running out! Great thinking HP! You can also use the HP app to check the printer and the ink status. Some not so great things - The printer hooks to the power cord in the back in a way that stops it from sitting flush with the back wall. I did wish, the power cord was not taking that space in the back (it could be intentional, so the scanner lid lifts without rubbing against the wall). I had difficulty using the document feeder to scan lease documents that are lengthier than the standard A4 paper size (it would scan and the document would come back out fine but for some reason the printer thinks that the document is stuck and it would error instead of sending the scanned image). Finally the printer plastic feels great, but the plastic doors tend to bend easy on slight pressure. Also I have accidentally opened the cartridge door a few times when using the glass scanner to scan documents.Amazon shipping was excellent, it shipped overnight, I had it delivered to my door steps in 12 hours from ordering. All in all, i think this is a great purchase! Works great, looks great!

Easy set up and the wireless connection works well. The only inconvenience is that the paper tray is not designed so that you can see how much paper is remaining, so need to open it to check and then add more if doing a large print run. I have it set up sideways (more convenient for size of the storage unit that it sits on), which is OK. The only really irritating point is that the printer comes with a glossy pink and white label stuck to the top of the printer lid. Unfortunately, it is stuck with a type of adhesive that, if you peel it off (the info is of no great value) much of the adhesive remains on the printer lid. I've used multiple products to try and remove the adhesive, but with limited success. There remains an unsightly, patchy mark the size of the label. Not happy about that.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing short of the most BROKEN software I have ever seen on a printer
Reviewed in Canada on March 6, 2022
If you ever scan documents semi-often DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER. HP's software and drivers for this printer are some of THE MOST BROKEN that I have ever seen. Yes I'm using the latest HP software, Yes I'm using the latest HP drivers, Yes the printer has the latest Firmware, Yes Windows 10 is fully updated, No HP Support will not acknowledge these are flaws in their software, No they will not "strive to improve our products and services better".

When you install this printers drivers, it forces you to use its HP Smart app. It's possibly the worst printer software I've seen. You CANNOT use ANY of the main functionality buttons on the home page without signing up, and logging into an HP account. This includes scanning from your computer, and using Mobile Fax. I would not recommend signing up for an account with them, who knows what additional telemetry is being sent to HP and then sold on if you agree to any of that.

Scanning is borderline completely broken. If you scan to your computer via the printer, the software on the printer hangs for 30 seconds, then says it could not find your computer. BUT the second you hit "OK", it magically finds the PC, and scans the document. Now imagine doing with with over a dozen documents. No it's not a wireless problem, it's connected to my router 3 meters away, which my PC is hooked up to via ethernet.

Good luck using the top feed scanner, if your documents have the slightest crease in them or are slightly misaligned, it will 100% get jammed. What happens when it gets jammed? The printer doesn't just yell at you that it's jammed, it completely CANCELS the current scan job, forcing you to scan from page 1 again. Now mix that in with the 30 second scan delay, and now you start to see the other option is faster since you can't predict when pages will get jammed.

HP support will just throw you a link to use generic drivers, which didn't necessarily help much either. They also tell you that tech support incurs a fee of $40 or something crazy like that, but your instance is free, WHAT? WHO EVEN CAME UP WITH THAT.

The print quality is fine, not great for full color images, you very clearly see the lines between head passes. For text and stuff, it's acceptable.

BUT, if you don't print for a while, the ink inside those cartridges disappears at a rate that I've never seen before. I don't print for a few weeks, capacity is significantly reduced. Over the several months I've had this, I've only printed about 100 pages that had color on them (not full pages with full color, a few images and highlights here or there), and my color cartridges were completely depleted.
Overall: Don't. I had to move my laser into the office, and this printer was what replaced it, and I've never missed another printer this much before.
