Directions

Keep it Clean: Regularly clean your band and wrist—especially after working out or sweating. Rinse the band with water or wipe it with a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Do NOT use hand soap, body soap, dish soap, hand sanitizers, cleaning wipes or household cleaners which could get trapped beneath the band and irritate skin. Always dry the band well before putting it back on. Keep it Dry: While Fitbit devices are water resistant*, it’s not good for your skin to wear a wet band for long periods of time. If your elastomer band gets wet—like after sweating or showering—rinse and dry it thoroughly before putting it back on your wrist. Be sure your skin is dry before you put your band back on. Don’t Wear It Too Tight: Make sure your band isn’t too tight. Wear the band loosely enough that it can move back and forth on your wrist. If you use Fitbit products with Purepulse Heart Rate tracking, for better heart rate readings during exercise, we suggest wearing the band so it’s secure, but not too tight, and wearing the band higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). Lower the band on your wrist and loosen it after exercise. Give Your Wrist a Rest: Prolonged rubbing and pressure may irritate the skin, so give your wrist a break by removing the band for an hour after extended wear. Love my slightly unresponsive FitBit Alta

Love my slightly unresponsive FitBit Alta
I absolutely love my Fitbit Alta. I originally thought it would just be nice to see a more accurate step-count at the end of each day than that of what my iPhone in a pocket could provide (I'm a teacher), but this device has surpassed my expectations. I love to look each morning to see how my sleep during the night, and I see clear trends in times I'm stressed with how long it takes me to fall asleep. Additionally, I like how it tracks weight loss. The friends feature is motivational knowing they can all see how active I am, and it makes me push myself to do more and more each day. The challenges it offers and the badges you can earn are perfect. I also love how the charging device works and how easy it is to connect. The one complaint I have is that the screen is no where near the sensitivity of, say, an iPhone screen, for instance. Often I have to tap multiple times to get any response, sometimes causing me to pass through the screen I was looking for. This was so noticeable at first that I actually wondered if I'd received a defective or counterfeit product, but when I finally saw a friend wearing one in person, I tested hers to find the same issue. All in all, I still love it. I never wear a watch for long and it was hard to not take it off each day when I got home, but I don't notice it at all now, even while sleeping.
