From the manufacturer
XFX True Clock Technology
BIOS Controlled overclocking.
Software controlled clock speeds can be hindered by overall computer performance. XFX's True Clock however is hardware controlled clock speed performance optimization, so your card is always running at an optimized performance level
XFX OC+ Capable
Going Beyond True Clock.
While True Clock locks in a super fast optimal speed on a hardware level, RX Series cards with an OC+ rating are tested at the factory to go even beyond XFX's True Clock. We encourage you to try these factory tested speeds by using the simple to use AMD Wattman utility, letting you squeeze every last bit of performance out of your card.
Enhanced VRM and Memory Cooling
Cooling technologies don't stop at just the GPU.
After countless hours of research, development, and testing our engineers have developed all new VRM and Memory cooling technology, reducing temperatures VRM by up to 30' C and GDDR temperatures by 20' C, all while reducing dB noise by an additional 5%.

Currently with flashed vega 64 bios, here are my settings in wattman
gpu frequency = -1.5% ~ 1607mhz max
voltage = 1.115v
mem frequency = 1025mhz
fan profile low = 700rpm
fan profile high = 3450rpm
card runs between 70c to 79c mostly staying around low 70's and mhz is usually 1530-1570 when being pushed. Yes the noise is a little loud but I wear headphones.
With those settings, it will tie an aftermarket gtx 1080 in timespy gpu scores of around 7,200 points.
Was lucky enough to snag this card for $399 previously, but see many cards are now dropping to $519 and $499, same with vega 64 dropping to $550ish. Please don't be stupid people and give 1 star for a product you don't own and are voting only based upon initial price and not upon actual market demands, we don't live in communism.
Amd cards and Ryzen cpu give the users more opportunity to adjust settings and tune to get more performance. It has plenty of more headroom for user improvements but require you to do some work or provide it aftermarket cooling. I would buy this again but wish game dev's could optimize their games more for vega. Most big name games run great, I usually get 90-160fps at 1440p on medium/high settings. Doom vulkan is a steady 110 to 160fps on ultra/nightmare 1440p with no AA. Great engine, need more programmers to jump onboard vulkan!!!

Anyway, I initially bought one of these in September, intending to get two as components in the new rig I'm building to replace my aging (2009 ... with upgrades along the way, c'mon I'm not that backward) do everything pc. However, while I paid for one through traditional means, I bought the other with proceeds from cryptocurrency mining that I started in July just because I had my pc running 24/7 and thought, why not have it working while I'm off working? Should have done that ages ago. So, yeah, I became one of those despicable cryptominers driving the price of gpus out of the hands of gamers. But, I was mining with my old 7970s that I've had for ages, and that I bought for gaming, and an RX 480 that I bought earlier this year (before prices went all wonky) for a mini-itx build for htpc/light gaming duties. So, don't hate. Also, I have not bought either of the V56's at higher that the MSRP. In September and November they were available at 399 for brief periods. That's the price I paid. And while I fully intend to get more gpus, I'm not going to want to pay more than 10% over msrp for them.
I have since pressed the first one into mining and its doing well. The other will soon follow as soon as I reorder my space to better dissipate the heat that my machines are spitting out!. Gotta get the exhausts facing out the windows! I will get two more for the rig I'm building, but I'm going to see how much of it I can get from mining profit and how quickly. You can't fight the wave, so just ride it.
As to gaming performance ... I do not know yet. While that was my original intent, it will wait. Hopefully I'll be able to chime in on that before Vega's replacement rolls in!
Cons: No windows 8.1 drivers, noise
