I am amazed how long the battery lasts (over an hour) and the range is about 30-40 feet.
It is not sealed like the sphero so I don't know how long it will last with dirt and dust and it is certainly not waterproof.
So far though it has been a great purchase.
Ollie does stop everyone who sees it, and their eyes open in childlike wonder. Ollie has a remarkably fun personality for a robot. Much more fun than BB-8. Truly the most fun I've ever had with a remote control toy.
According to packaging and the website the Ollie will run for an hour on a full charge and travel at up to 14 MPH. Neither of which proved true. Mine only ran for 30 minutes before I get a noticeable drop in speed. Controlling the Ollie can get frustrating at first but with a lot of practice it gets easier. It gets the fourth star mainly for its appearance and durability and the dog likes chasing it around the house.
CAUTION : check and see if the toy works before you meet the children, if this is a gift for children. It takes a very long time to be updated and be faired with your smartphone at first time, and kids are.. you know, not that patient ;) Also, I'd recommend you to learn how to drive it before you give it to them. It was a little bit tricky to me at first time and it somehow made me from the coolest uncle to a dumbest one...
