Unrivaled Command Power

The Tyon features the X-Celerator, a single-axis analog thumb paddle pioneered for modern battlefields. It gives you unrivaled command capabilities without sacrificing control. You can use it to seamlessly tilt left and right, pitch up and down, increase and decrease throttle and much more, all while maintaining perfect mouse control.

Improved Easy-Shift[+] Functionality

ROCCAT’s breakthrough Easy-Shift[+] technology lets you assign a secondary function to each button on the mouse, for a near endless number of attack possibilities. The secondary function can be activated once the Easy-Shift[+] button is held down. On the Tyon, this is a dedicated button conveniently located beneath the traditional side buttons.

Extended Attack Options

The Tyon is the first ROCCAT mouse armed with the ingenious Dorsal Fin-Switch, a two-way button controlled mid-knuckle, expertly placed for ease of use without having to adjust the hand during crucial moments. The Dorsal Fin-Switch is a brilliant tactical design to move ever more vital functions away from the keyboard and to your gaming mouse.

An Expanded Arsenal

Four expertly placed ergonomic buttons flank the main right and left clicks, allowing even more functions to live on the Tyon rather than your keyboard. This addition to the multi-button layout allows for even more rapid execution of myriad commands, designed to feel so comfortable each action feels like second-nature.

Your Tyon, Your Style

Fully customize the look of your Tyon with new industry-standard RGBY lighting illumination system. Adjust the color of your scroll wheel and mouse rim independently of one other for your own unique look. With a variety of enhanced lighting effects to choose from and your choice of 16.8 million colors, the Tyon melds on every level to your style.

X-Celerator Analog Paddle

Configurable single-axis analog thumb paddle to tilt, pitch, throttle and more.

The Tyon brings FPS gaming to a new level with the innovative X-Celerator analog thumb paddle. A plethora of unique commands can be mapped to the single-axis stick, such as tilting left and right, pitching up and down, increasing and decreasing throttle – and tons more. The options are virtually limitless, with the unique two-way stick boosting your quest for supremacy over the modern battlefield. With the X-Celerator, the Tyon gives you an edge that no other gaming mouse that can provide – and your opponents on the server won’t know what hit them.

The Dorsal Fin-Switch lets you rapidly execute command and macros.

Product Description

Unbridled Control

Gaming is all about precision and discipline, and that makes the Roccat Tyon the ideal gaming mouse when traversing any virtual environment. Utilizing the X-Celerator, a single-axis analog thumb panel, 14 programmable buttons and a Dorsal Fin Switch, the Tyon arms you with a huge arsenal of functionality and control. Flanked by four side buttons to the left and right of the mouse, the Tyon allows you to execute multiple commands without having to resort to using your keyboard. This means a faster, more intuitive response during FPS and MOBAs without cutting down on comfort and quality.

Extreme Customization

The Roccat Tyon is an undisputed giant of customization. The groundbreaking Easy-Shift technology lets you assign a secondary function to each button of the mouse, allowing for a multitude of attack possibilities. Ultimately this means you can create custom profiles and settings for each game you play, ensuring that your Tyon is finely tuned to your gaming style and particular genre, whether this is an MMO, an MOBA or FPS. What's more, the Tyon feature's Roccat's comprehensive driver suite which provides total specificity over every feature of your gaming mouse. This includes the sensitivity options, the vertical scroll speed and horizontal tilt speed of your mouse wheel, as well as various DPI settings and double click speed.

Ergonomic and Smart Build

The Tyon is built solidly to fit firmly in any gamer's hand. The thumb rest behind the side buttons is extremely comfortable and sports a coarse skin to ensure your hand won't slip. The shape of the mouse is slightly curved and the height is appropriate to the hands of most people using it, meaning it's an ergonomically sound and naturally form-fitting design. The Tyon also features a 32-bit processor with 576KB memory for rapid macro storage and execution. This smart design means you're likely to be ahead of your competitors in games like Battlefield, League of Legends, and Dota 2.

Opposite of disappointment
This review is for the Roccat TYON (Black).TL;DR │ This is a terrific mouse. This will not only be useful for gaming, but also for productivity. If you're looking for a button-filled mouse, this is a great bet. It does NOT sacrifice ergonomics – not by one bit. The EASY-SHIFT function effectively doubles the number of buttons without actually adding more physical buttons. This is a far more effective approach based on my experience from other mice. If you need something cheaper, you should also check out the Logitech G700s. It is a bit cheaper, has wireless/wired option, and has a better scroll wheel for non-gaming tasks. One more thing... Look out for false "on-board memory". Watch out for Corsair and some of Logitech's offerings which only have on-board "storage", advertised as "memory" (learn more below⁽ⁿ⁰⁾). Don't even get me started with Razer...CONTENTS: Intro │ What I Like │ What I Don't Like │ Package │ Measurements │ Notes │ Comments │ Verdict- - - - -So... this purchase was totally unnecessary since I already have an abundance of gaming mice. I currently have two Logitech G700, one Logitech G700s, and even a Corsair Vengeance M95. I have avoided Roccat's mouse offerings in the past because I'd only consider mice with high button count. So then I provided them feedback, and man, do they listen! I remember distinctly suggesting in an e-mail of putting buttons on the right-click area, as this was ignored by many mouse manufacturers. Boom! The TYON gets it! That, and my excellent experience with their RYOS MK Pro keyboard made me hit the "ADD TO CART" button, even with its premium price tag. Well, Roccat has done it again. I feel the opposite of disappointment. [UPDATE: I now have two of these.]WHAT I LIKE │ + │+ On-board processor AND memory. VERY IMPORTANT.⁽ⁿ⁰⁾+ You can assign functions to almost every single button.⁽ⁿ¹⁾+ Multi-key rollover.⁽ⁿ²⁾+ Finally, buttons for my middle finger (right-click side).+ EASY-SHIFT is so much better than "OMG over 9000 buttons!"+ High DPI (technically, it's CPI) laser.⁽ⁿ³⁾+ RGBY LED lighting on two zones, with effects!⁽ⁿ⁴⁾+ I love the fins better than scroll tilt now.⁽ⁿ⁵⁾+ I also love the thumb paddles.+ Braided cable for a premium feel.+ Little touches, like the ergonomic USB plug.WHAT I DON'T LIKE │ × │× 2D scroll-wheel. No tilt function.⁽ⁿ⁵⁾× Non-removable USB cable. If cable breaks, mouse is brick.× No weight customization. It would have been nice.× EASY-SHIFT can only be assigned on the thumb area.⁽ⁿ¹⁾× No option for wireless.⁽ⁿ⁶⁾× No free-scroll option. I really wish every mouse has this function.⁽ⁿ⁷⁾× No LED sleep function, nor can a button be assigned to turn it on/off.× It takes a while to upload changes to the mouse. [UPDATE: It's Windows Defender]⁽ⁿ⁸⁾PACKAGE │ ✓ ✗ │✓ Solidly built mouse.✓ High-end box.✓ Printed materials.✗ NO Freebies✗ NO Garbage- - - - -MEASUREMENTSCable length │ 72" (plug to mouse's surface)Mouse max LWH │ 5⅓" × 3" × 1½"Mouse weight │ 126 grams (4.44 ounces)···⁽ⁿ⁰⁾ WHY THE PROCESSOR AND ON-BOARD MEMORY IS NECESSARYSimply put, the macro and key-strokes you save are stored INSIDE the mouse. It does NOT need Windows to be running to execute them. It has its own processors to do it. What are the benefits of this feature?▶ For macros, there will be no lag/delay since it will not be dependent on Windows software.▶ You can use it anywhere. Even in the lock screen, before "running" Windows (e.g. store your password).▶ Need to change computers? No re-installing of drivers and software required.▶ Works flawlessly with virtual machines and remote desktops (or any host/guest OS enviroment). Many mice state that they have "on-board memory". While technically correct, this is misleading; they have on-board "storage". Memory is useless without a processor to execute. Basically you will need Windows to retrieve those "memory" and have Windows execute them for you. It's not much different than having a USB thumb drive to store profiles. Just stay away from these because you pay more for something less (ask me if you want to know more). To put in perspective, Corsair, Razer, and Logitech (some) offers these, but they do not even employ REAL on-board memory. It's like preferring and buying a laptop with Intel integrated graphics, versus one with dedicated/discrete NVidia GPU. It baffles the mind.···NOTES⁽ⁿ¹⁾ Every single button can be assigned a function with some exceptions. The left and right click cannot be re-assigned. However, the EASY-SHIFT-ed left and right clicks can be assigned. Another limitation is that the EASY-SHIFT can only be assigned on any of the three thumb buttons. (I initially wanted to put it on one of the right side buttons.) This makes it un-ergonomic to easy-shift the other thumb buttons and paddle.⁽ⁿ²⁾ This is important because this means any button can be assigned as a modifier key. For instance, I could assign the thumb paddles to CTRL and SHIFT keys.⁽ⁿ³⁾ Depending on how you look at it, high DPI/CPI might be useless. Even though I do not use higher than 4000 CPI, I still prefer the option. This is especially useful for extremely high screen resolution. Laser also means it could be used on more types of surface.⁽ⁿ⁴⁾ RGBY lighting creates true yellow and more accurate colors, as opposed to RGB. I prefer RGBW for true white, but this works just as awesome. There are two lighting zones: one for the scroll wheel and the other is for the bottom trim. The effects include breathing, heartbeat, and blinking. Also note that holding on the EASY-SHIFT button lights up the mouse blue, and this currently cannot be changed.⁽ⁿ⁵⁾ I liked the scroll wheel tilt. The fins may require a small learning curve. HOWEVER, the advantage of this is that scroll wheel is built more solid. The fins are more effective though compared to buttons on this area as in the cases of other gaming mice. I actually now prefer the fins, and in my opinion are more ergonomic to use.⁽ⁿ⁶⁾ I know purists are against wireless, but a dual mode would be better. I have a Logitech G700s that I use wirelessly most of the time. However, if ever I become paranoid about lag, then I could just use it wired. Same thing with my headset.⁽ⁿ⁷⁾ Found mostly on Logitech mice, this is a VERY convenient feature. It can click-scroll for normal usage, with the option to switch to free-scroll if I need to scroll fast.⁽ⁿ⁸⁾ If for some odd reason, it seems that the mouse is slow to update, it is not really the mouse's fault. Apparently, Windows Defender is the culprit. You need to create an exception for the driver directory and files:C:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon MouseC:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon Mouse\StartMonitor.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon Mouse\TyonMonitor.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon Mouse\TyonMonitorW.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon Mouse\TyonOption.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon Mouse\TyonOptionW.exe- - - - -VERDICT: I highly recommend this product. Seriously.★★★★★ | 5 stars out of 5. The mouse came as described. My only gripe is the higher than average price tag, and the few quirks. However, in this case, those shortcomings could be easily overlooked. This is a great mouse, and a great buy.Questions? Hit the comments! This review is for the Roccat TYON (Black).

This is a far more effective approach based on my experience from other mice. If you need something cheaper, you should also check out the [[ASIN:B00BFOEY3Y Logitech G700s]].

Don't even get me started with Razer...

So... this purchase was totally unnecessary since I already have an abundance of gaming mice. I currently have two [[ASIN:B003VAM32E Logitech G700]], one [[ASIN:B00BFOEY3Y Logitech G700s]], and even a [[ASIN:B00B5QLS4A Corsair Vengeance M95]]. That, and my excellent experience with their [[ASIN:B00FB4BUMM RYOS MK Pro]] keyboard made me hit the "ADD TO CART" button, even with its premium price tag. Well, Roccat has done it again. I feel the opposite of disappointment. [UPDATE: I now have two of these.]

WHAT I LIKE │ + │
+ On-board processor AND memory. VERY IMPORTANT.⁽ⁿ⁰⁾
+ You can assign functions to almost every single button.⁽ⁿ¹⁾
+ Multi-key rollover.⁽ⁿ²⁾
+ Finally, buttons for my middle finger (right-click side).
+ EASY-SHIFT is so much better than "OMG over 9000 buttons!"
+ High DPI (technically, it's CPI) laser.⁽ⁿ³⁾
+ RGBY LED lighting on two zones, with effects!⁽ⁿ⁴⁾
+ I love the fins better than scroll tilt now.⁽ⁿ⁵⁾
+ I also love the thumb paddles.
+ Braided cable for a premium feel.
+ Little touches, like the ergonomic USB plug.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE │ × │
× 2D scroll-wheel. No tilt function.⁽ⁿ⁵⁾
× Non-removable USB cable. If cable breaks, mouse is brick.
× No weight customization. It would have been nice.
× EASY-SHIFT can only be assigned on the thumb area.⁽ⁿ¹⁾
× No option for wireless.⁽ⁿ⁶⁾
× No free-scroll option. I really wish every mouse has this function.⁽ⁿ⁷⁾
× No LED sleep function, nor can a button be assigned to turn it on/off.
× It takes a while to upload changes to the mouse. [UPDATE: It's Windows Defender]⁽ⁿ⁸⁾

⁽ⁿ⁰⁾ WHY THE PROCESSOR AND ON-BOARD MEMORY IS NECESSARY

Simply put, the macro and key-strokes you save are stored INSIDE the mouse. It does NOT need Windows to be running to execute them. It has its own processors to do it. What are the benefits of this feature?

▶ For macros, there will be no lag/delay since it will not be dependent on Windows software.
▶ You can use it anywhere. Even in the lock screen, before "running" Windows (e.g. store your password).
▶ Need to change computers? No re-installing of drivers and software required.
▶ Works flawlessly with virtual machines and remote desktops (or any host/guest OS enviroment).

It baffles the mind.

NOTES

⁽ⁿ¹⁾ Every single button can be assigned a function with some exceptions. The left and right click cannot be re-assigned. However, the EASY-SHIFT-ed left and right clicks can be assigned. Another limitation is that the EASY-SHIFT can only be assigned on any of the three thumb buttons. (I initially wanted to put it on one of the right side buttons.) This makes it un-ergonomic to easy-shift the other thumb buttons and paddle.
⁽ⁿ²⁾ This is important because this means any button can be assigned as a modifier key. For instance, I could assign the thumb paddles to CTRL and SHIFT keys.
⁽ⁿ³⁾ Depending on how you look at it, high DPI/CPI might be useless. Even though I do not use higher than 4000 CPI, I still prefer the option. This is especially useful for extremely high screen resolution. Laser also means it could be used on more types of surface.
⁽ⁿ⁴⁾ RGBY lighting creates true yellow and more accurate colors, as opposed to RGB. I prefer RGBW for true white, but this works just as awesome. There are two lighting zones: one for the scroll wheel and the other is for the bottom trim. The effects include breathing, heartbeat, and blinking. Also note that holding on the EASY-SHIFT button lights up the mouse blue, and this currently cannot be changed.
⁽ⁿ⁵⁾ I liked the scroll wheel tilt. The fins may require a small learning curve. HOWEVER, the advantage of this is that scroll wheel is built more solid. The fins are more effective though compared to buttons on this area as in the cases of other gaming mice. I actually now prefer the fins, and in my opinion are more ergonomic to use.
⁽ⁿ⁶⁾ I know purists are against wireless, but a dual mode would be better. I have a [[ASIN:B00BFOEY3Y Logitech G700s]] that I use wirelessly most of the time. However, if ever I become paranoid about lag, then I could just use it wired. Same thing with [[ASIN:B00D34A1G8 my headset]].
⁽ⁿ⁷⁾ Found mostly on Logitech mice, this is a VERY convenient feature. It can click-scroll for normal usage, with the option to switch to free-scroll if I need to scroll fast.
⁽ⁿ⁸⁾ If for some odd reason, it seems that the mouse is slow to update, it is not really the mouse's fault. Apparently, Windows Defender is the culprit. You need to create an exception for the driver directory and files:

C:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon Mouse

C:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon Mouse\StartMonitor.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon Mouse\TyonMonitor.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon Mouse\TyonMonitorW.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon Mouse\TyonOption.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\ROCCAT\Tyon Mouse\TyonOptionW.exe

VERDICT: I highly recommend this product. Seriously.
★★★★★ | 5 stars out of 5. The mouse came as described. My only gripe is the higher than average price tag, and the few quirks. However, in this case, those shortcomings could be easily overlooked. This is a great mouse, and a great buy.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ACHTUNG: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

========== Prolog ==========

Absolut angenehme Haltung, keine scharfen Kanten etc.

Daumen 5,5cm, Zeigefinger 8cm, Mittelfinger, 9cm, Ringfinger 8,8.
