    A Solid meh.
    3 Stars
    A Solid meh.
(Written by James Gilmore son of Chantal Gilmore)TL;DR and list of pros and cons at bottom. Some Background:I am a lover of Razer products. I have used them for years and I enjoyed my Razer Black Widow, Anasi, and Mamba 2012. My Mamba 2012 was the mouse that I have owned for the most of my time gaming. I got it for Christmas in 2012 and since then I used and abused it for 3 years and 9 months. Recently I decided to order a replacement mouse as my Mamba 2012 was running into several issues, the DPI down button wasn't working properly, the navigate to previous page button had failed, and most annoying of all, the right-click was failing and wouldn't register as being held down. As a player of some first person shooters that really bothered me, and I use click and hold for my sights on most games and the failure of the right-click ruined my games.Enter the New Mouse:After a few months of dealing with my Mamba 2012's issues I decided to look into mouse replacements. I immediately looked at Razer to see their latest offerings and was a little underwhelmed. I spent a few months pondering what mouse to invest in and when my birthday rolled around I decided to go with what I knew and purchased the Mamba Tournament Edition (Wired). I was hoping to replace my Mamba 2012 assuring myself that since it was over 4 years newer that Razer had spent its time refining the design and I was in for a treat. The Delivery:I ordered this mouse with out a second thought. I waited eagerly for the delivery and I was anticipating opening the packaging for that new Razer smell. When the package was left at my door I collected it with glee. I was interested in what the packaging of the mouse would be like, as the box for the Mamba 2012 was more of a museum exhibit than a box. However I was disappointed. The Mamba Tournament came in a nice rather small box. It was certainly nicely packaged but not in the over-the-top way I had experienced with other Razer products, it also didn't have that professional feel of the other product I bought with it a Das Keyboard 4 Professional Soft Tactile MX Brown Mechanical Keyboard (DASK4MKPROSIL). It included the standard Razer welcome and congratulation on nicely printed card-stock in both black and green. When I held the mouse in my hand if felt really light and extremely cheap, lacking that hefty feel I associate with quality Razer products.Testing it Out:When I plugged in the braided and gold-plated USB cable into my PC I was greeted by a pretty but kind of tacky light cycling. I begrudgingly installed Razer Synapse onto my computer to configure my mouse for play and was pleasantly surprised by the insane customization options. You can individually control every LED on the mouse (I think it has 14). Once I had finished with my DPI settings I promptly uninstalled Synapse (I really hate having more programs than I need on my computer). I booted up an FPS and was really disappointed. I didn't lose any of the control I had with the Mamba 2012, but I did discover a new set of issues. When I squeeze the left side of the mouse I can actuate the buttons to navigate forwards and backwards on a browser, the left and right-click sound wimpy compared to the Mamba 2012, the right-click seems to hang over the side of the mouse making my ring finger a bit uncomfortable, and the different plastic would heat up quickly and make the mouse uncomfortable warm during prolonged gaming sessions. There are some definite improvements. The rubber grips seem to be molded into the mouse and won't come off or accumulate dirt in the seams. It has a bit of a smoother glide and feels more even. The sensor is now a whopping 16,000 DPI instead of the 12,000 DPI of the Mamba 2012, which is nice even if I have no idea why I would need such a high DPI.List of Pros and Cons:Pros:-Cheaper than Mamba 2012-Smoother glide-More LED's (though they are a bit tacky)-Up to 16,000 DPI-Improvements to the grips on both sides of the mouse-Scroll wheel allows quick navigation of long documents or web pagesCons:-Feels cheap-Becomes uncomfortably warm very quickly-Clicks aren't as satisfying-Very light (for some that is a pro)-Lackluster packaging-Can actuate the webpage navigation buttons but squeezing the left side of the mouse-Has odd vent things on the front for seemingly no reasonFinal Verdict/TL;DR:Compared to the Mamba 2012, this mouse is a solid meh, the design takes 10 steps forward 9 steps back I'm going to request a refund and get a G900 instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every Great Product is Bound to Have a Small Hiccup or Two!
Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2015
The mouse out of the box was a bit glitchy, as it was for many people that have given it bad reviews. I don't think that those reviews are sensible at all. If you don't want to take maybe 5 minutes to call Razer, ask them to email you the firmware patch, download and run it, then you don't deserve this mouse. It took less than two minutes for me to call Razer and ask for the update. They already know about the issue and have even put the topic in the product's FAQ on their website.
People always complain about Razer's customer service. I don't fully understand this. I had actually started an Email ticket about the issue saying that I needed the patch. When I found out that Razer actually did have a phone number, I went ahead and called it. It only took maybe one or two number presses to get to where I needed to be (no voice command tom foolery). I told them that I had actually started an Email ticket about this and guess what they did: They didn't have to start a whole new support ticket. When I gave them my Email, they saw that I had the ticket that I had submitted through Email. Then they just latched on to the already open ticket, therefore not requiring me to keep up with two support numbers. Very proactive Razer!
The firmware update is 2.45MB big. It's not like it's going to take a day and a half to download it. All I had to do was download it, go to my task manager, close everything with Razer in the name, unplug and replug in the mouse, and run the file. Everything else was done for me. There were no PC restarts and not even a need to unplug and replug in the mouse again. All I had to do was open up Synapse after the update finished and I was completely done.
Let me just touch on Synapse quickly. Synapse has had many, many updates to fix whatever issues you thought there may be. It's quite a stable program. And it stays open in the background constantly. It never actually closes. The window goes away but the actual program stays on in the background (if you go to your task manager, you will see this). You only have to completely open once and that, of course, is right after startup.
So sum everything up, here are some Pros and Cons:

    Pros:
    - Good enough customer service. They do what you need them to.
    - 100-16,000 DPI customization that can be an exact number (no decimals) 100-16,000. I will never use that much, but it good to have!!
    - Amazing color customization. Enough said.
    - Nice and light! I will have no problems if I have to pick the mouse up in game!
    - Fully programmable buttons. Any good gaming mouse should have these, of course!
    - A nice, braided cable.
    - Works out of the box. (Just no color customization [will be automatically Razer Green] and no exact DPI customization.
    - Synapse is simple, yet elegant and smooth. No glitches here.
    - Good construction. It's solid enough for a rager! (Like me...)

    Cons:
    - Good products are bound to have small hiccups. As long as they are fixed quickly there is no problem. Although, the once firmware problem is still a small con...
    - I am nitpicky, but i felt like the side buttons could be a bit more tactile and heavier. They're a bit easy to push!

So, all in all, this is a great mouse for the person who likes an all around kind of mouse. This should definitely be on your consideration list!

Reviewed in Canada on August 3, 2018
I got this mouse for 89.97 after Tax this mouse is very nice for gaming/daily use.

The Clicks feel nice and crisp well being soft to they have a nice click to them to not loud there but just right.

At first I was unsure about the laser sensor as I’ve had used mice with them before and didn’t like them. But THIS is the BEST one I’ve ever used it’s very accurate with all movements even without being calibered before using it.

The mouse is very comfortable to use it’s even more comfortable then the Deathadder Chroma (which is saying a lot because that’s one of the best nice out there).

The overall build quality of the mouse is really good it’s really light coming in at 103 Grams the ABS plastic is soft to the touch. I have to say that I LOVE the side buttons and quick changing DPI buttons for games like CSGO this is nice because I like to play on 3200 DPI but when playing a game like GTA V 2250 DPI is better same with web browsing.

The Razer Software is really great two it’s very user friendly, it’s easy to change the RGB lights to match your PC or to Reprogram the side buttons and I like how you can change the speed of the lights in the software to just make you have internet when you plug the mouse in because you need to download the Razer razer synapse 3 software. I also use the same software for my Keyboard and Headphones to.

Lastly the RGB lights, all I can say is that they are beautiful all the colours are spot on and there is no colour bleeding what so ever when in RGB mode. I also love that you can have the side lights in RGB mode or in my case Green and Black but have the logo just be Green all the spots with lights on the mouse are 100% programable which is great.

Overall I love this mouse, I have nothing bad to say about it. Everything comes together to make the PERFECT mouse for me I have pretty big hands (I can plam a basketball) so people with big hands should be fine with this mouse. The 2 year warranty is also a added bonus just make sure to register your mouse when you get it so you’ll have the warranty all set up. Great work with this Mouse Razer as this will be my daily driver for the coming years.
