Update: Broke Charge Port RESOLVED w/Warranty! BUT S/N on New Cord Diff Fm Box S/N. STRANGE! (Pic)
-This was my initial review:Received product less than one month ago. Worked fine until the rear USB charge port detached internally and shifted to the left so it can't align with the USM plug. . No way to recharge battery and this failure is mentioned in other reviews including references to the short time after purchase when it breaks. Will try the warranty route but even if that's successful I'd still wonder when the port will again detach, not if. Logitech received complaints about this for at least three years with no improvement. That also tarnishes my opinion of the brand.-This is an Update About Working with a VERY Strange Warranty Process for This Specific KeyboardAmazon customer service insisted I contact Logitech because I was 2 weeks past the return period and their "90 Day Support" policy didn't apply to the broken port. So I tried Logitech but this 830 keyboard is like a ghost in their system. For warranty support the product must first be registered and to register the product one must enter the serial number- BUT...the 830 does not have a S/N on the keyboard (very strange). After researching for an hour found one comment the S/N for THIS product ONLY is on a USB extension cord sticker, and there it was - but Logitech STILL didn't accept it as a registered product. Entered a 90 minute chat session where I explained the issue, had to take and send 3 picture REAL TIME of the broken slot with a piece of paper next to it showing the "ticket #", then send a copy of the receipt, then answer questions about how I used the product, then provide personal contact info three times and during the entire process had to stand by while the rep waited for a few responses from other departments. Next morning received an e-mail with the tracking number for the replacement keyboard.This was all bizarre and I'm skeptical about the quality of the replacement and why the S/N is on a sticker on a cord and not the keyboard like every other Logitech keyboard. If anyone purchases this product I suggest they register it immediately (supposedly the s/n is also on the box) and watch out if the charging port suddenly seems loose. I purchased the 830 while it was on sale but given what I now know I would not pay close to full price and select another model/brand that doesn't have all of these peculiarities and weaknesses.FINAL Resolution: Received replacement via FedEx and they don't even want me to return the defective item. Replacement works great (S/N is again on extension cord AND above bar code on box, BUT, both start with different numbers which is bizarre-I will try to register using both S/N's).Photo shows S/N on cable next to S/N on box. Not even close.If charging port breaks on this one I will probably just skip the warranty process and reattach the port myself (requires removal of just four screws).
