    Sleak design quality camera
First impression out of the box...... Wow! Sleak design and feels like a quality camera. In the box: Garmin 65W dash cam, car accessory charging cord, USB to USB Micro cord, magnet with adhesive, manual, install instructions, and an 8GB Micro SD card.Upon turning on your device you will be asked a series of four questions in order to complete initial setup. Country of origin, placement of camera of windshield, whether or not you want audio recording turned on, and one last setting that I have seemed to have forgotten at the moment.Installing the device takes litterally 2 seconds (unless you decide to hard wire the camera into your fuse box). Disclaimer: The directions say to allow 24 hours for the adhesive on the magnet to setup before attatching the device. I just slapped it up there and attached everything with no issue. The device is very user friendly; so user friendly that you don't even need to open the manual for it. I've attached photos as I navigated through the menu options.Garmin has create a plug and go device for thier consumers. Within minutes you're up and recording video. If you want to save a video push the lower button or simply say "Ok Garmin" to active the voice controls and then say "Save Video". It's that easy!I can't say enough good things about this device. The video quality is superb...... 1080P and I don't even care that the Garmin 55 dash cam is capable of 1440P. I will gladly take the 180° view point. With the device in the center of my wind shield I can see both side pillars.I have not experienced any over heating issues that other reviewers of the 55 and 65 have stated having. I don't plan on leaving the device in my car so I won't be affected by it if it were an issue. The device is held on by a magnet so it literally takes two seconds to unplug and place in my briefcase.I'll update in the coming weeks with any pros/cons I experience. Thanks for checking out my review.Update: I downloaded the Garmin VIRB app from the playstore on my android device. The app doesn't have gleaming reviews..... most people state that it's glitchy or just doesn't function at all.Once the app is open you will need to connect to your device. This is done so by scrolling through your settings on the device to the gallery option. Then select share gallery. The screen will display a code that you enter in the app screen and you will be up and running in a matter of minutes. In the app itself you can view any still frame photos that you take, any saved videos, and the most recent video loop. I found the app to have a slight lag when trying to open the video from the device, but once the video started playing it was flawless.I've yet to link the device to my pc. I'll be playing around with it some more in the coming days. Stay tuned..... more feedback to come.Final update: I found that it was very easy to review saved photos and video from the device using a pc. I did not have the chance to try and do so on a mac.Over the past few weeks I've had over 50 hours of use of this device. The only issues that I have found are with the driver assist functions; such as the forward collision, lane departure, and traffic is moving alert. All of these functions at various times would alert when there was no actual reason for the alert. It didn't happen enough for me to knock it down from a 5 star review.I have also found that with casual conversation with passengers the device would activate the voice commands. Also not a big deal.... The device chimes and after a few seconds without a recognized command it goes back to normal operation.Overall when you look at dash cams on the market you can end up spending some serious money (check out the Thinkware 770). For the price you can't beat the quality of this device. Yes, it has some quirks.... but nothing that would deter me from recommending this product to you or a friend.
