Ordered a better cooler for it
Can play what ever I want. Ordered a better cooler for it. This thing was able to run at 4.5ghz no issues with my evo cooler. I ran the latest cod ww2, Doom 2016 and BF1 on ultra at 60fps paired with a GTX 1050ti . Trust me it runs hot, but get a better cooler, and you will be unstoppable.

Bought this proc (fastest availible in its class (4.2ghz FM2 socket, 4core, no graphics) to replace my older A6-5400K (3.6 ghz FM2 socket, 2core , integrated graphics. Had the A6-5400k up to 4.4ghz on over clock(way better than stock, fast but not screaming. Dropped in a 4gb Evga SSC1050. Graphics improved. Bought the 880K, dropped it in booted it up to 4.2 and noticed another slight decrease in load times. Games play good on high-ultra settings but i have to restart computer every other day or so if not daily. The same can be said of my internet i have to disconnect and reconnect to internets . The old A6 could be left on for days needing a restart mebe once a week. Might have some bugs to work out.

This thing is a decent upgrade from the A10-7850k APU (it is basically APU with the GPU disabled) and it easily runs at 4.2ghz with not much heat generated with the Wraith Cooler, this is a budget CPU and the best balance between performance and cost at about $106 out the door if you are on a tight money schedule then this is a good choice and the new Wraith cooler is very solid and not flimsy like the past AMD coolers and that fan moves a ton of air at any RPM at it even fit on my Gigabyte AMD FM2+ F2A68HM-H mini ITX board with about 1/8 clearance of the ram but you will need to check other motherboard clearance issues.

Bought this cpu as the last upgrade for my old fm2+ board. Previously, I had an a8 5600k and I was very torn if it was time to start from scratch and build a whole new system. Long story short, I play pubg almost exclusively and this cpu handles it great. The only thing holding me back now is my radeon rx560 (nvidia is the only way to go right now for gpus). Depending on your current cpu, if you have an aging fm2+ system, this may be a viable $95 final upgrade before you start a full rebuild.

Yes, you read that right. Probably the best Athlon out there. I used this to build a budget gaming rig for my friend and paired this with a 1060 gtx from Gigabyte. It works great. Probably no good for a workstation computer and it might give you problems on more CPU intensive games but it might work well in those situations too. I'm only speculating. I think 4 cores would be more than enough and it already has a high base clock. For the purposes I used it for, it seems to be working perfectly with no problems.

Great thermal solution keeps temps at a minimum with room for overclocking. I'd say this CPU is compatible with most ATX and Micro-ATX motherboards with A88X or equivalent chipset. I used this in a new build as a step up from the X4 860K or X4 750K which are still usable CPUs in my older system build. The X4 880K pairs well with my RX 480 or even an RX 470 which are considered high end mainstream cards. Overall I'd say this CPU will do the job well until I can afford to build a Ryzen based system, which is fine since optimization for newest AMD CPUs (Ryzen line up) will still take some time.

It was like dropping a hellcat in a pinto. This proc absolutely decimates the previous FX series I had because it's not choked by un-necessary integrated GPU cores, and the extra heat caused from them. I'm using an ASUS A68HM-E motherboard, and she absolutely loves this new Athlon X4 880K. Not once has she hit 100% cpu load, and I pushed her hard having Elder Scrolls Online running, while a movie playing with VLC, while using Facebook, and Giphy.com, and while using discord. Everything ran at the same time flawlessly with zero hesitation. My recommendation for anyone who is using an FX processor with integrated GPU...... GET RID OF THAT GARBAGE! It's ruining your pc's true performance. It's better to use This dedicated processor for your processing, and seperate pci express 3 video card for your GPU. Totally different pc, and I really am amazed. Thank you so much AMD for making such an awesome quadcore for an FM2+ motherboard to make up for the awful FX series.
