Not compatible with Pokemon GO's AR mode
Upgrading from a 5 years old Evo 3d, so this phone seems like a race car in comparison.Decent storage, large screen.Pros: decent hardware for the price, front facing cam, removable battery, SIM card slot.Cons: Does not have a gyroscope, so it is not compatible with the Pokemon GO when set to AR mode. Only way to see Pokemon is in a virtual space, so no Squirtles on your desk with this phone. You can still play the game, it's just fully 3D without using the camera and shows a grassy field.

What I like about the phone:

Just about everything! For someone like me who wants a pretty basic smart phone, this phone has everything I am looking for and more. The phone holds a charge for a very long time. Besides making phone calls (and the phone does an excellent job of this - the phone calls are nice and clear and I have had no problem with dropped calls) and text messages (this is first time I have been able to do group text messages!), it does so much more. It comes with many apps including Google, a calendar, a camera, a clock, music, quick memo, voice command, voice recorder, YouTube, and more. It has a QWERTY keyboard. You can reject incoming calls if you like. The phone has caller ID, blocking, call waiting, conference calling, and call forwarding. The phone is hearing aid compatible, it has an alarm you can set, and a countdown timer so you can use the phone as a stopwatch. For someone like me this phone really is a mini computer!

What I don't like about this phone:

While I like just about everything about this phone, there are couple of things I don't like about it. The main thing is the on/off switch. Every other device I have has the on/off switch on the top or side but for some inexplicable reason the on/off switch on this phone is on the back, right between the volume controls. Even after having this phone a few months, I have difficulty turning the phone off - hitting the volume button instead, which is annoying not only to me but the people around me! The other thing I don't like is that the phone doesn't have a lot of memory - I don't have a lot of photos on it, no music, and just a few games but are after having the phone just a few weeks it was already telling me I had no memory. I deleted two games but I am still getting the low memory message. Other than those two things I really like this phone.

    Bottom-line:

The LG Volt 2 No Contract Phone is a perfect phone for people like me who are new to the world of smart phones or those who are used to smart phones but don't want to spend a lot of money on one. In the end, I really like this phone.

    Pros:
    Nice form factor.
Feels great with a slim case.
    Micro SD
    Removable battery
    Affordable
No annoying buttons on the sides

    Cons:
Terrible sound quality and volume in every form (speaker, headphone jack, and Bluetooth). You can get away with Bluetooth netflix, that's it.
No Android Marshmallow, so actually using the micro sd for apps is very limited, and as result low space available to install things
I paid $69.99, wish I had done $100 to $125 on something better

There is a lot that I like about the Volt 2, but it's not a five star phone due to the speaker and voice quality.

When I talk on the phone I have a difficult time hearing the people that I'm talking to, and sometimes my voice isn't clear when talking to them. I've been able to work around this problem by using a set of earbuds with a mic 90% of the time. This works for me for the most part because I almost always have my earbuds in anyway. I live in a state with hands-free laws, and I spend most of my day listening to podcasts, music or watching videos. Since my earbuds are in most of the time, it's not usually a problem to use them for my calls. However, it is a PITA at times to try to grab my earbuds and get them plugged in if I've had them out for something. I often wish I could just grab my phone and answer it and have a clear conversation like a normal person. However, since I got this on Amazon for $60 when I needed to replace a phone cheaply in an emergency. I've been using it for about four months and will plan to replace it in a couple more.

Otherwise, I love just about everything else about it. When I read the other reviews, several people complained about the camera quality, but this may be one of the best cameras I've had in a while. It auto focuses and has a flash. You can zoom in and out, and easily decided whether you want to save pics and videos to the internal storage or SD card (which has been a problem on some other phones getting it to save in the same place consistently).

There is much more memory available than any other LG phone I've owned, but not quite as much as on my husband's Galaxy. So far I haven't bothered to root this phone. One of the reasons I usually choose LG is for the ease in rooting, but since I'm not sure how long I'll have this phone and haven't run out of memory yet, I've just been using the standard operating system without root, and have no problems.

The screen is a nice size, the same as more expensive phones, and the video quality is clear. I do watch many shows and movies when I want to kick back and not deal with holding up my larger tablet.

I didn't get this phone to use as a phone- I got it to use as a tablet. I know, weird, right? My tablet (which finally gave up the ghost a few days back) took terrible photos, and I needed something that would take good photos, would allow me to edit and upload said photos onto places like Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest with as little headache as possible. No, I won't be giving up my Canon anytime soon, but this 8 mp camera does a really nice job. I also do a lot of reading, but I don't like the bulk of the tablet when I'm laying in bed, trying to read myself to sleep. Yeah, I might have to swipe more often to finish a page, but it makes me happy. The phone is very light, it fits nicely in my hand, and it has everything you'd expect from a smart phone. I do recommend this (the price is awesome, too) as both a phone and an entertainment system. The power switch and volume buttons are on the back of the phone, which is nice, because I have a tendency to press the buttons on the sides of these devices and screw up my flow.

    Good job, LG!
