The Loonies are a fun group, and they do an excellent job of endearing to the audience. McKenna's actor is an okay front-man for them, but the rest are the real stars. The scientist woman is incredibly odd, picking up being an action heroine immediately and no-one in the movie questions it.
For the Predator lore that gets explored here, it shows us what we are used to, then the movie throws out much of what we know about them out the window in terms of biology, motivations, society, and technology. Some of the additions are interesting, some CGI noise. Most humans except the government researchers can use Predator technology it seems, and by the end, there hardly seems anywhere to go to.
The comedic elements are well done in most of the scenes, however it clashes oddly with the companion tone of intimidating slasher horror, undercutting much of the tension. In the moment the talent, dialog, cinematography, and choreography are good, however it just doesn't pull them together into a satisfying whole.
