Customers are mixed about the connectivity of the product. Some mention that the interconnection with Alexa devices is stellar, and they are able to connect with no issues in some dead zones around the house. However, others say that it intermittently drops the connection completely, and does not pick up a decent connection. Some customers also mention that it does not allow their wifi printer to connect, and that after a year, now the extender intermittently loses connection to the base station.

Good way to improve your WiFi network with a caveat
Let's start saying that this product work as it is supposed and is very easy to setup but not all devices like them.I live in a typical Suburb House with a Basement, ground floor and upper level where there is a Home Office. I use AT&T fiber because is a Passive Optical Network and the modem can (and is) powered using a 12 VDC battery power supply. I have all NEST & RING cameras powered with batteries too and before eero I used MEDIALINK WiFi routers, that for several years worked great but each floor level had a different network and was really annoying to remember that sometimes we had to adjust the phone or tablet as we moved to different levels. These MEDIALINK devices also work with 12 VDC so in the event of an outage I got the peace of mind that neither the Internet service or my internal network will give me an outage. The last utility power issue we had left the house for 6 hours without power but we could still work on our laptops, tablets, etc. I decided on eero because of some reviews but also feedback from other users. For the initial setup each camera was hooked into a UPS to prevent issues until I could power them with batteries. The first thing I noticed when the system was setup is that a couple of NEST cameras, one YAMAHA receiver and my Canon 7500 printer did not like this network, had to temporarily stop the 5GHz section until these devices joined the network. After everything was setup I purchased some 12 VDC to USB power adapters so I could move the cameras to a more reliable power source. I picked the eero I installed in the basement for a try but to my surprise none of the adapters I purchased, some of them the same I use to power the Nest cameras, worked for the eero. As soon as I plug the USB-C cable to the eero a yellow light starts to blink indicating that there is a power supply problem. I also tried using different cables and USB power supplies, each one of them gave the same issue. I researched on the eero site and they do not offer a 12 VDC adapter and wont use a power inverter due to un efficiency. So far the eero devices are powered by APC UPSs but if a power outage hit us won't be able to get more than 20 minutes of power. This certainly the most concerning issue and from my perspective is a drawback for the eero design team.
We’ve been having some issues with dead spots in the front of our house. We have a fairly large closet which is big enough to keep a connected indoor bike and treadmill in and the signal wouldn’t work. Adding this was quick, super simple and has been very effective. It’s also decreased latency on our driveway security camera.
Highly recommended as a simple, reasonable priced add on to Eero mesh systems.
Added unit to the garage which is located over 150 feet away from house. With thoughtful placement these EERO units work very well and give good coverage. Technical support from EERO is super!
We recently moved into a new home and needed wifi throughout the house. The house is super old with really thick floors and walls, and we were concerned about signal strength. We chose the Eero system for a few reasons and we've been really happy with it.
One: It's incredibly easy to setup. You follow the instructions to plug in the Eero, then download and register the app on your phone, then you're done! The extenders are equally easy to use; you just plug them in and register them in the phone app. Need to plug something (like a printer) directly into the network because it doesn't have a wifi card? The Eero has a single ethernet output port on the back and you can plug a printer directly into that or (even better!) plug in a switch (we use the NetGear 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch GS608) to the Eero and use that as an extension bridge to take on multiple ethernet lines. And I know all that might sound complicated but it is really SO EASY to set all this up. Plug-and-play!
Two: It's so good at juggling network traffic. Eero maintains two networks--a 2.4 GHz and a 5 GHz--rolled up as one and manages what needs to be on the 2.4 (Echo/Alexa and most "smart" devices) and what needs to be on the 5 (everything else, like your laptops and televisions). Eero also juggles which items need to be using the main Eero device and which need to be on the extenders you may choose to scatter throughout the house. You do not have to manage ANY of that; the Eero does it all automatically and seamlessly.
Three: The app is gorgeous and so easy to use. It gives you a little notification when something new joins the network and you can rename it (like "Echo-Bedroom" or "Laptop-Husband") and categorize what type the device is (Security Camera, Laptop, Tablet, and so on). You can block items from the device if you need to. You can create a special guest network and password for your guests to use. You can see your download and upload speeds in case you want to check whether you're getting what you paid for from your carrier.
Four: The signal we get from the Eero is super strong! I don't regret buying the extenders, but I'm not sure we needed more than the one we put out in the (detached) garage. I would recommend buying and setting up the base Eero first and then buying the extenders later if you decide you need them. You can add the extenders at any time without disrupting the network setup--you literally just plug them in and walk away!--so there's no need to buy them upfront until you're sure you need them.
Extender for existing Eero router, fast easy install, works great (Speed test showing almost as fast as near parent Eero), but strangely, the led status light has been flashing blue since install......this is supposed to indicate failure to make a Bluetooth connection, but I have NO BLUETOOTH DEVICES in my home, so I have no idea what is going on. I have been unable to find any guidance about this issue, but this extender is performing as expected, so I will just accept the annoying blue flashing LED.
Boosted my wifi strength significantly on our 2nd floor. Also like that the Eero app tells you which devices log to which Eero unit. This really spread the device load.
This is 5th module I've purchased. Covers small house, my wife's office/ outbuilding, and an indoor office inside my pole barn. They provide sufficient throughput throughout inside and out, including solid video and streaming in my pole barn office. I have one installed in a weatherproof box on a power panel halfway between house and pole barn office, and I have solid video streaming down there. I live in northern Minnesota, and I don't know if Eero recommends an harsh, cold exterior location such as this for their routers, but it stays dry and has been going great through its second winter. I added 5th router for my wife's office as she works from home and WiFi use is fairly resource intensive. The Eero App allows you to to accurately determine best location for each, router-by-router stats - signal strength, etc. It also gives you visibility to every connected device on your network. We're in a very rural area and rely on StarLink service for everything, and the Eero's mesh routers have been very compatible with it.
