About this ebook

If the Night Stalker is watching, you're already dead

In the dead of a swelteringly hot summer's night, Detective Erika Foster is called to a murder scene. The victim, a doctor, is found suffocated in bed. His wrists are bound and his eyes bulging through a clear plastic bag tied tight over his head.

A few days later, another victim is found dead, in exactly the same circumstances. As Erika and her team start digging deeper, they discover a calculated serial killer stalking their victims before choosing the right moment to strike.

The victims are all single men, with very private lives. Why are their pasts shrouded in secrecy? And what links them to the killer?

As a heat wave descends upon London, Erika will do everything to stop the Night Stalker before the body count rises, even if it means risking her job. But the victims might not be the only ones being watched Erika's own life could be on the line.

The global bestselling author of The Girl in the Ice is back with a heart-racing, electrifying thriller. If you love Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott and Peter James, you'll be hooked on Robert Bryndza.

Watch out for more from DCI Erika Foster.

She's fearless. Respected. Unstoppable. Detective Erika Foster will catch a killer, whatever it takes.

This series is okay but it doesn't quite ... gel. The main character is a bit unidimensional with the plot happening to her rather than her progressing the plot. It moves well at times but drags at others. It could also use a bit better character development - the main character in particular hasn't evolved in any meaningful way. That said, there is nothing really bad about it either. Hopeful the next one will be better.

He comes home after a long day's work, grabs a glass of wine, throws a TV dinner in the microwave and heads for the shower. The Night Stalker has been in here before. He dissolves something in the man's wine and waits. While he is downstairs eating his dinner and enjoying his wine, The Night Stalker is upstairs ... waiting. DC Erika Foster and her team are called to investigate. The man, a renowned doctor, is found in bed, wrists bound and his eyes bulging through a plastic bag tied over his head. A few days later, another victim is found in exactly the same way. Both were well known...both were white men ... both were living single ... so what's the connection? Foster will do whatever she needs to do to stop this serial killer. If she doesn't stop the killings, her job may well be in trouble. If she gets too close, it may well be her life on the line. Second in this series, this one does well as a stand-alone. Besides the hunt for a serial killer, the reader gets to know Foster much better. She's a more interesting character now that we learn more about her background ... why she is the way she is. Her team is experienced and work well with or without supervision. The story is well-written. The reader gets a peek at the protagonist here and there, and it's a surprise when the killer's identity is actually revealed. I look forward to any future books by this author, especially watching how Foster and her team progress and mature from here. Many thanks to the author / Grand Central Publishing / for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

I have not read this book yet so before I purchased it I thought I would do what I usually do and read the opinions of other readers. Well I think I may well have enjoyed this book but after looking at one " Review" in particular I don't feel the need to purchase this now as it was all told there for me. I was slightly disbelieving of my eyes and thought it was still the book description as my reader seemed to cut off halfway through it. Hence the perusal of the reviews. Please fellow readers you may have enjoyed the book you are reviewing but please leave the plot to the Author to tell so other readers may get the opportunity to enjoy it too. Thanks
