One of the few SOHO router on the market to support ipv6
    5 Stars
One of the few SOHO router on the market to support ipv6
One of the very few router on the market to implement ipv6, kudos Linksys.I just set it up few hours ago, and worked like a charm, few setting to tweak and that was it.I didn't test properly on the local network but Internet speed are about 260 Mbps, latency is 2-3 ms with CAT 6 cable.UI is very responsive. I kept my AirPort express 802.11ac as bridge to handle the WiFi, very happy about the setup!

A Great router, make sure you have updated to the most current firmware before you start setting it up. A Big Improvement over my previous router, more throughput, lots of options, the VPN is a lot more complex to setup, even with the wizard. I bought this to replace a DLink DI804HV that I have been using for years. It was a great upgrade. The newest firmware seems to be really solid and fixes a few glitches I ran into with the previos version so now nothing to really complain about. If you just want a router with Gigabit ports this is easy to setup up, some of the screens aren't showing that the ports are gigabit, but they are. For the difference in cost between this and it's little brother (LRT214) this is the better choice if you are going to be using multiple video streams, and may want VPN in the future. The Dual WAN port option is a nice feature if you really need to stay connected to the internet. Hook a cable modem and a DSL modem and you're going to stay up though most anything. And you can use both at the same time with load balancing. The Router has a lot of options that give you a lot of power, and a lot of confusion. But it will be a great learning experience.

I recently upgraded to a CM600 cable modem and bough this Gigabit router to act as a gateway. I briefly had the change to run dual Wan with TimeWarner and AT&T just a few days before I dumped AT&T. If you have two ISPs for redundancy or you want to use one connection for one type of traffic and the other everything else this Router works great. I connected this to a gigabit switch, rather than use any of the on-board ports. Setup was a breeze, especially if you are already familiar with Linksys routers. To see how it handle load, I ran speed tests while downloading large files from multiple sources. I also talked with VOIP while running these tests. This router didn't hick-up in the slightest. I'm sure it can be overwhelmed, but nothing I through at it in a worst case scenario.

The interface is just like Lynksys/Cisco routers of the past, but it is a little better navigation-wise. I'm using this for home use, it might be a little overkill, but it definitely has everything you could want other than it has no wireless access. For a wireless AP, I highly recommend an Engenius ECB350.

I have installed two of these firewalls. One at my job, the other in my own home. The one at work acts as a remote access firewall for a web-based application. The one at home is a basic everything-is-allowed-outbound, nothing-that-originates-outside-is-allowed-in firewall. The GUI interface is clean and easy to understand. The throughput seems quite strong for such a small, cheap box. My measured cable throughput hasn't slowed down at all (50 mbps) and netflix, amazon video performance are unaffected. In both cases, I had the firewall configured and talking in less than a half hour. I have worked on Cisco and Juniper firewalls, and this device seems a lot easier to work with. It probably has fewer features but for what I'm using it for, it does the job. My home network cable modem has been hacked twice, and I do not consider cable or DSL modem is to be the least bit secure. This would seem to provide some measure of protection, although in the end most home network security problems start with a visit to a contaminated website. No basic firewall will fix that.

DO NOT purchase this product for your business. Linksys is great at making little home desktop switches that connect your printer to your computer but when it comes to a REAL business class product they can't compete with the other players in the market place.

I purchased this product as a firewall between a Comcast cable modem and my network switch. It has been since the 26th of Jan and I still can not get this product working. I have called Linksys numerous times and have had 2 different case numbers opened for this product.

The first case number determined the product was defective and it was replaced. The second case number is still open with no resolution and no support.

The problem: We have a very simple network. Cable modem --> LRT214 Linksys Firewall --> Networks switch --> computers/printers etc.

When we plug in the LRT214 with the default setting out of the box the unit works fine for a while. Then the entire network crashes and the LRT214 must be rebooted in order to restore the network. All console login to the device goes down and ONLY a hard power reboot will get the unit back up.
The firmware was upgraded to the latest and a factory reset to default settings was performed. Both the original unit and the replacement unit are doing the exact same thing. They crash all the time.

After opening the second case on the replacement unit I was told 24-48 hours for someone to call me back and work with me on this issue. It has been 5 days and I again had to call Linksys back and they told me it was assigned to someone who will call me.

I was told on the phone this is a business class product; they will not work with you until they transfer you to their business class team. Really? 5 days to respond and that is business class?

I have 2 internet connections to my business. Our original circuit is ATT and the network topology is : ATT modem/router --> Networks switch --> computers/printers. EVERYTHING works great in this setup. We decided to upgrade our internet connection to Comcast 50Mbps circuit and needed to get a new modem and firewall. So when we unplug the ATT modem/router and install the LRT214 with the Arris modem we get this network topology : Cable modem --> LRT214 Linksys Firewall --> Networks switch --> computers/printers

Everything crashes and the LRT214 lockups every time. When we switch back to ATT modem/router connection we get a stable network.

First time Linksys business class product purchaser. This unit is going back if they don't call me today and fix it.

3/3/2016 - Product still defective. I call Linksys customer support every other day with no resolution in place. They tell me engineering is looking into it, but no one calls or emails with updates. I tried to call Belkin in CA for USA based help since they own linksys.. NOPE. No one can help. You have to call the Linksys support in the south pacific area. Every time I call same story... read the case notes and tell me someone will call me and it is being worked on. Amazon won't return the product, as it is beyond 30 days.

If this is the support you want for your business class product then by all means buy a junksys product. If anyone at Linksys is reading this and is based in the USA with some tiny bit of authority to do something by all means contact me.

THE WORLD IS BROKEN. What happened to customer services, tech support and doing the right thing?

This router was super simple to set up. The wizard did most of the setup and the menus are simple and easy to understand for customization. I bonded two internet connections quickly and have battle tested it during live streaming while three teenagers also used the internet heavily. I haven't dug too far into the VPN functions yet but it look to have multiple VPN options that are equally easy to manage.

Was blöd ist.

5.0 out of 5 stars Il dual Wan davvero a portata di tutti.
Reviewed in Italy on September 2, 2018
