Upgrading from an Asus P8B75-V (2012 Gen3 Intel) to the Asus Prime Z490-P was a very satisfying experience.
Using NvMe M.2 2400Mhz SSD / i5 10400 / 16GB 3200MHz RAM (@2666MHz due to 10400 CPU), and an old gtx760 GPU, I get all the performance I need for Trackmania Stadium (a fairly demanding game).

Be careful when doing compatibility, for instance my case has type c port and now it’s absolutely useless cause there’s only usb ports… on the motherboard. Overall was a pain doing bios updates so I recommend having a flash drive on hand to update to newest update from the ASUS website, do not bother calling any support line they are useless to be honest, just use YouTube or ask reddit.

Another good product from ASUS, I didn't test this board on OC potential, but with my new i5-10400 works stable.
I like Z490-P design more than Z490-A, just metal, without plastic, if ASUS removed these white stripes, it would be even better, but anyway, looks great.
My first motherboard was ASUS M2N-SLI, still buy only ASUS motherboards, thanks for your quality products.

Great entry level board. Have not tweaked it but the power delivery components are premium and can support an overclocked i9-10900k. See Hardware Unboxed YouTube video for more info.

Basic set of I/O but note that it lacks a USB-C port. Also only four SATA’s but does have dual M.2’s.

Bought this to replace a Z490 board from another company that would not boot up. It either didn't like the two 16gb sticks of 3200MHZ, XMP compliant ram I bought, or it required the extra 4-pin cpu input which I didn't have.

On the chance that the issue was the motherboard, I bought this, installed the cpu, the ram, the video card and tested it with the standard dual, 4-pin cpu inputs. Sweet. First time with no issue. Finished assembly and ran the bios. The ram was initially read as 2133mhz but the XMP I profile boosted it with a click to 3200mhz. I haven't attempted any cpu overclocking at this point, but I did attempt to save my current configuration to a usb drive and I;m still not sure that it has been saved because I can't find it. So, taking a star for that. The issue is there are two drive options to save to, neither of which is my usb drive. I'll have to figure it out, but it shouldn't be a guessing game.

Other than that, satisfied with the motherboard and the compatibility with the components.
